Minimum requirements for Fetch TV

From 7 March 2022, we'll no longer be offering our customers the ability to add a new Fetch service to their Optus account or purchase a standalone Fetch service through us.

If you're looking to add an entertainment option to your existing Optus service, we suggest Optus SubHub, as it offers the ability to purchase and manage a range of entertainment, lifestyle, and education subscription services.

Before you connect to a Fetch TV service, you'll need to make sure that your Internet service and hardware meet the minimum requirements to support Fetch TV. In this article, we'll explain what you'll need to get connected with a Fetch TV service.

What type of Internet connection will I need?

To use your Fetch TV service, you'll need an Optus Home Internet service:

nbn®
5G Home Internet

Please note , Fetch will not work with:

4G Home Internet
Mobile Broadband
Mobile hot spot

Will Fetch work with the 4G backup service featured with the Optus WiFi modem?

Fetch will continue to work on a best-effort basis.

Note : Non-Optus Internet connections offer varying levels of support.

Minimum hardware requirements

To connect with Fetch, you'll need:

A Home Internet service
An nbn or 5G Home Internet modem with a spare Ethernet port or a WiFi connection
A widescreen television
An existing, roof-mounted, Free-to-Air TV antenna (needed for Free-to-Air channels). We also recommend using quad-shielded antenna cabling (available from most electronics retailers) to ensure you receive the best possible signal for Free-to-Air channels

If your Fetch Mini and Mighty set top boxes are near your modem, then you can connect via Ethernet. Alternatively, you can connect the boxes via WiFi if you have a stable WiFi connection.
