Originating from the United States in the 1980s, Black Friday is the start of the Christmas shopping season where retail brands from around the world reduce prices and offer sales and deals for a limited time. Although technically occurring on 29 November, many retailers now extend the special Black Friday shopping period from mid-November to early December.
