The 2026 Darwin Triple Crown is just around the corner, with the Supercars returning to the Top End to battle it out at Hidden Valley Raceway. As has been tradition since the establishment of the Indigenous Round in 2022, every car in the field has been given a special Indigenous livery for the race weekend – and Chaz Mostert’s car is looking particularly deadly.
The Mobil 1 Optus Racing Toyota GR Supra’s Indigenous livery was designed by Badimia Yamatji artist Monica Taylor and has been named “The Gwiyarl”, and it’s not just visually striking. The livery tells the story of different Aboriginal tribes tracking the Australian Goanna, representing the Walkinshaw TWG Racing Supercars, as the animal is known for its speed and agility. The goanna also represents the importance of family and teamwork among the race team, with Taylor drawing on her own experiences in designing the livery.

“Showcasing Indigenous art alongside cultural knowledge through the Indigenous Round for the V8s shows a place of acceptance for all of us and I am proud to have designed artwork for such a great company like Walkinshaw TWG Racing whose values align with mine around family, acceptance and knowledge sharing,” Taylor said.
“I have 16 grandchildren and for them to be able to see their Nanna’s artwork racing around the country again gives them inspiration and shows them that they can achieve anything they put their mind to.”

Let’s take a closer look at some of those details on this gorgeous car. The Mobil 1 Optus Racing Toyota GR Supra has looked epic all throughout the year, and this Indigenous livery just builds upon the Supra’s incredible design.

“We will be doing everything we can to be as fast as the Goanna this weekend and put on a great show for the fans,” Chaz Mostert said.
“A huge thank you to Monica, the team and our partners, especially Mobil 1 and Optus, for their support throughout this journey.”
As Optus marks five years partnering with the team, it’s about more than just the racing — it’s about the unique moments and meaningful connections this partnership makes possible. From behind-the-scenes access to on-the-ground experiences in Tasmania, we’re proud to create opportunities for fans and local communities to get closer to the team and the sport.
Our commitment to Walkinshaw TWG Racing is grounded in a genuine passion for community. Through Supercars — one of Australia’s most iconic sporting platforms — we’re proud to help bring families, friends and fans together, both at the track and beyond.
The Darwin Triple Crown kicks off at Hidden Valley Raceway over June 19 – 21.
