Outside of 5G coverage areas, 5G capable devices will switch to the Optus 4G or 3G network.

Your device will switch between the 3G, 4G and 5G networks as you move between different coverage areas. '5G' will display on the top of your home screen when you're connected to the 5G network.

5G is currently only available for data use. When you make a call on your 5G capable device, you'll revert to the 4G or 3G network.

To access the Optus 5G mobile network you'll need to be:

1. In an area with 5G coverage
2. Using a 5G capable device
3. Signed up to an eligible Optus mobile phone plan
