Changes to listing preferences

Soon we'll be changing the way we communicate our customers details (phone numbers and addresses) to directory publishers such as White Pages, printed phone books and other online directories.

Please be assured the safety of your personal information is important to us and these changes will help keep your personal information even more secure.

From 8 November 2021, we'll be changing customers current directory listing preferences from Listed to Unlisted. This means your details will no longer be visible in online directories and will not be reprinted in the next edition of the White Pages.

What do you need to do?

We'll notify you once the change has occurred and if you'd like to change your preferences from Unlisted back to Listed, simply log into My Account to change the settings at any time after receiving the notification.

You can find how to change your settings here.

Note: Changing your preference to Listed can take up to 48 hours to appear in online directories.

If you need help, please get in touch with us today.

FAQs

Optus does not charge a fee if you chose to be Listed.

We're committed to making sure that information about our customers is protected while also providing them with choices.

Allowing our customers to have control over their service is important to us and moving customers from Listed to Unlisted is a necessary step to achieve that.

If you're happy to stay Unlisted you don't need to do anything, however, if you'd prefer to have your number Listed you have the control to turn that back on.

We understand you may have been contacted previously; however, we're contacting all customers who might be impacted by the upcoming changes.

When you have a Listed service your Name, Address and Service Number are reflected in the various directories, an example of this is the White Pages, both online and print platforms

Yes, the directory listing preference of your account will be reflecting in the printed White Pages. Please make sure your preferred directory listing preference in My Account is correct before the cut-off date. The cut-off varies depending on your location, see here for list of dates.
