Page updated: September 2026
Devices that can't make Triple Zero (000) calls, won't work on the Optus Network
Optus (and other Australian telecommunication providers) are legally required to block access to devices that are not able to make emergency calls to Triple Zero (000) using VoLTE. Check if your phone is compatible by entering your phone's 15 digit IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number in the Optus mobile network Blocked Device Checker. Find your phone's IMEI number by dialling *#06#.
To ensure you still have access, we strongly recommend you upgrade your device as soon as possible. To discuss your options, call us on 1300 720 225 or see us in store.
Daily Plan Move to Flex Plus Plan (24 August 2026)
We're retiring the Optus Prepaid Daily plan and moving all customers to the Optus Flex Plus plan. If you've received a message from us, here's what you need to know.
Your plan will be automatically moved to the Optus Flex Plus plan from 24 August 2026. We'll send you an SMS and email 30 days before your plan move date to the Flex Plus plan with full details.
| What's changing | Detail |
|---|---|
| Your plan will operate differently | Optus Flex Plus plan prices, inclusions and expiry dates will be different to what you’re used to on your current plan. Instead of a $3 Daily usage fee that’s deducted from your credit balance, each Flex Plus recharge provides a set amount of data, calls and SMS to use within a specified expiry period. You will be unable to rollover any Daily plan credit balances when you are moved to Flex Plus. To see how Flex Plus differs from Prepaid Daily see table 3 below |
| Your data balance and expiry |
All remaining Prepaid Daily credits and expiry will be removed at the time of your plan move to Flex Plus, after the plan move you may be eligible for a $49 recharge which will be applied to your service, see table 1 below. If you’re not satisfied with the new inclusions of Flex Plus, please call us on 133 937 to arrange a cheque refund. |
| AutoRecharge | If you have AutoRecharge turned on, it will be turned off at the time your plan changes. Once you've been moved to Flex Plus, you can re-enable AutoRecharge any time through the My Optus app or by texting 'MENU' to 9999. |
| Voucher Recharge |
Vouchers purchased before 24 August 2026 but not yet redeemed will remain valid until their expiry date and can still be redeemed on the Flex Plus plan after you are moved. You will receive the equivalent Flex Plus inclusions when the voucher is redeemed (e.g. if you purchased a $13 Daily plan voucher and redeemed after you are moved to Flex Plus you will receive the $13 Flex Plus plan inclusions), see tables 2 and 4 below for Flex Plus pricing and inclusions. If you’re not satisfied with the new inclusions of Flex Plus, please call us on 133 937 to arrange a cheque refund for the equivalent voucher value. |
| Voucher price point changes |
Optus recharge vouchers for the following price points $13, $39, $49, $59, $180 and $350 will be available to purchase until 29 September 2026. From 30 September 2026, Optus recharge vouchers for the following price points $13, $39, $49, $59, $180 and $350 will be removed from sale. Only $15, $44, $54, $64, $200 and $395 recharge vouchers will remain available for purchase on the Flex Plus plan. |
| IOU | IOU functionality was available to Prepaid Daily customers and is not available on Flex Plus. Customers with any IOU balances owing will have their balances cancelled when they are moved to the Flex Plus plan. There will be no recovery of IOU balances from your Flex Plus recharges. |
When you are moved to Flex Plus, here's what happens based on your credit balance at the time:
| My Credit Balance at Plan move to Flex Plus | What you’ll receive |
|---|---|
| $0.01 - $20 (plan within expiry) |
A $49 Flex Plus recharge will be applied to your service, when you move to the Flex Plus plan, in exchange for any remaining credit balance on your Daily plan at the time you are moved. If you would like a refund of your remaining Daily plan credit balance, please contact us on 133 937. |
| Over $20.00 (plan within expiry) | A $49 Flex Plus recharge will be applied to your service, when you move to the Flex Plus plan, at no extra cost. You'll also receive a full refund of any remaining Daily plan credit balance at the time you are moved. |
| Plan already expired (no active credit) | You'll be automatically moved to the Flex Plus plan — you can recharge at any time when you're ready. |
To see a summary of your $49 recharge inclusions please see table 2.
In all cases, any remaining Prepaid Daily credit balances and expiry days will be cleared when your plan move is completed and your new Flex Plus recharge is applied (if applicable).
AutoRecharge will be turned off at the time of plan move to Flex Plus — you can re-enable it on Flex Plus at any time via the My Optus app or by texting 'MENU' to 9999.
You'll receive a confirmation SMS once your Optus Prepaid Daily plan has been successfully moved to the Optus Flex Plus plan.
What are my recharge options on Flex Plus?
When you recharge on Optus Flex Plus – recharge prices may be higher, and inclusions and expiry dates will be different to what you’re used to on your current plan. It is important to review these changes so that you understand what they mean to you.
Reminder: Vouchers purchased before 24 August 2026 but not yet redeemed will remain valid until their expiry date and can still be redeemed on the Flex Plus plan after you are moved.

How does Optus Flex Plus compare to my Prepaid Daily plan?
The Daily Plan is a pay-as-you-go style prepaid plan where a $3 daily fee is charged each day the customer uses their service. It provides unlimited calls and SMS, plus unlimited data — but data speeds are capped at 15Mbps. There are no international call or SMS inclusions, no data rollover, and no add-ons available.
Flex Plus is a prepaid plan where you recharge a set amount upfront to receive a fixed data allowance, valid for a set expiry period (7–365 days depending on recharge). Speeds are uncapped on select price points. It includes unlimited standard national calls and SMS, international calling minutes (Zone 1 & Zone 2 on select price points), 50 international SMS on all plans, data rollover of up to 200GB, and access to a range of add-ons (data, international, roaming). 5G access is available on compatible devices.

What are my options if I don't want to move or want to move early?
Your current Prepaid Daily plan is being retired, which means all customers will be moved to the Flex Plus plan automatically. Unfortunately, staying on your current plan is not an option.
- To make sure you get the most from your move, we recommend waiting until your scheduled plan change date. Moving to Flex Plus early means, you’ll lose your remaining Daily credit balance and inclusions, $49 Flex Plus recharge (if eligible) and any plan migration offers. For more information on plan migration offers please see our Plan Change Offers page.
- If you’d like to move to the Flex Plus plan before the scheduled plan move date, please contact us on 133 937 to speak to us about your Daily plan credit refund.
- If your plan is due to expire before your plan move date, you can choose not to recharge and find an alternative service.
- If you'd prefer not to stay with Optus, please contact us on 133 937 before you port your number out to another provider to discuss your refund options on any remaining credit on your Daily plan. No cancellation fees apply. If you port-out independently without first contacting Optus, you will lose any remaining unused Daily plan credit and inclusions.
- You cannot opt out of the plan move to Flex Plus and remain on the Prepaid Daily plan, as this plan is being retired.
- To discuss your options or request a refund, please call us on 133 937.

Q: Will my data or other inclusions change?
A: Yes. In addition to the price change, most recharge amounts will include more data, selected recharge amounts will have speed caps removed, and international calling inclusions are improving on most plans. If you're an existing customer, you'll receive the updated inclusions from your first recharge on or after your migration date — we'll be in touch with more details ahead of time.

A: Yes. With AutoRecharge active on your $44, $54 or $64 plan, you'll receive a $4 AutoRecharge discount on each AutoRecharge payment at those price points, bringing the effective cost down to $40, $50 or $60 respectively. You'll also get access to Unlimited Data Weekends each weekend while your AutoRecharge stays active.

If the SIM is activated prior to 29 December 2026, recharges made within 90 days of activation via online, the My Optus App or AutoRecharge, will have a discount applied, so that you pay the same amount as the face value of your SIM pack. Changes to your AutoRecharge:
If you have AutoRecharge turned on, it will be turned off at the time your plan changes. Once you've been moved to Flex Plus, you can turn on AutoRecharge any time and your service will automatically recharge on expiry or when you reach a low data balance of 200MB (whichever comes first). It is not possible to recharge on expiry only. You can turn on AutoRecharge through the My Optus app or by texting 'MENU' to 9999.
MyCredit Balance Compensation:
MyCredit is a dollar credit balance that was provided on some legacy plans. MyCredit is not supported on Flex Plus, therefore balances cannot be carried over when you move to the Flex Plus plan. Customers with MyCredit balances will automatically receive a cheque refund of their balance.
If eligible, you will be notified by SMS on the day of migration of your credit balance, and to ensure we have your up-to-date postal address. Please note that refunds will only be issued in the form of a cheque, and you’ll need to allow up to 2-4 weeks from the time you’re moved for it to arrive in the post.
What are my options if I don't want to move or want to move early?
Your current Casual plan will be retired and unfortunately staying on your current plan is not an option.
- To make sure you get the most of your move we recommend waiting until your scheduled plan change date. Moving to Flex Plus early means you’ll lose your remaining Casual plan recharge inclusions and expiry days, add-ons, MyCredit refund (if eligible) and eligibility to additional recharge expiry days. For more information on additional expiry days please see Table 3. If you’d like to move to the Flex Plus plan before the scheduled plan move date, please contact us on 133 937 to speak to us, including refund options.
- If your recharge is due to expire before your planned move date, you can choose not to recharge and find an alternative service.
- If you have AutoRecharge, it will be turned off at the time of plan move to Flex Plus — you can re-enable it on Flex Plus at any time via the My Optus app or by texting 'MENU' to 9999.
- If you'd prefer not to stay with Optus, please contact us on 133 937 before you port your number out to another provider to discuss your refund options. No cancellation fees apply. Please note, if you port-out you will lose any remaining Casual plan recharge inclusions and expiry days, add-ons and MyCredit refund (if eligible).
- To discuss your options, please call us on 133 937.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is changing with Optus Prepaid Traveller plans?

When does this change take effect?
The change takes effect on 30 September 2026. From this date, new Traveller SIM and eSIM packs will be available at $44, $54 and $64. The previous $20, $35 and $45 Traveller price points will no longer be available.
I bought a Traveller SIM before 30 September 2026 but haven't activated it yet. Can I still use it?
Yes. You can still activate your SIM, however it will activate onto the Optus Flex Plus plan rather than the previous Traveller plan. You'll receive the Optus Flex Plus inclusions at a higher value price point than your previous Traveller plan, details of which will be communicated at the time of activation.
What data inclusions will I get if I activate a $20, $35 or $45 Traveller SIM after 30 September 2026?
Your SIM will activate onto the Optus Flex Plus plan at a mapped price point with more data compared to the previous Traveller plan, as well as exciting new features.
Can I still make international calls?
Yes. Optus Flex Plus plans include international calling to a wide range of countries. Visit our Prepaid international calls page for the full list of included countries.
Where can I buy a Traveller SIM or eSIM?
Traveller SIM and eSIM packs are available from Optus stores at international airports, online at our Traveller page, and at selected retail partners. You can purchase a physical SIM (uSIM), a QR eSIM pack (Optus Branded Retail stores in airports only), or a digital eSIM (online only).
Can I still buy an eSIM online?
Yes. Digital eSIMs are available for purchase on our Traveller page at the $44, $54 and $64 price points. Your eSIM will activate onto the Optus Flex Plus plan if purchased on or after 30 September 2026.

If you're currently on the Optus Flex Plus Traveller plan, your service will continue to operate as normal with your current inclusions and recharge options. We'll be in touch with more information about transitioning your service to the Optus Flex Plus plan, which is currently scheduled for November 2026.

What is AutoRecharge?
AutoRecharge automatically recharges your service before your plan expires (valid debit/credit card required), so you stay connected without having to manually recharge. You can set it up in the My Optus app, or at any Optus Branded Retail store. AutoRecharge is optional — you can still recharge manually if you prefer.
Are add-ons still available?
Yes. Standard Optus Prepaid add-ons are available on the Flex Plus plan, including the $6 Unlimited Data Day and the $5 International Talk add-on. Visit our add-ons page for the full list of available add-ons.

MyCredit Balance Compensation:
MyCredit is a dollar credit balance that is provided on some legacy plans. MyCredit balance may accrue on the Epic Value plan and rather than having bundled inclusions like Flex Plus, these MyCredit balances work on a pay-as-you-go model where an amount is deducted from your MyCredit balance for additional usage.
If you have an applicable plan without any minutes, SMS/MMS or data you will be charged a pay-as-you-go rate for this additional usage that will be deducted from your MyCredit balance.
MyCredit is not supported on Flex Plus, therefore balances cannot be carried over when you move to the Flex Plus plan. Customers with MyCredit balances will automatically be sent a Flex Plus plan recharge voucher equal to the value of the maximum amount of their MyCredit balance as set out in table 5 below.
Optus will notify you if you have a MyCredit balance attached to your service account and the Flex Plus recharge voucher you will be receiving.
If eligible, your recharge voucher will be sent by SMS and may take up to 72 hours from your plan move confirmation to Flex Plus. Once received you can redeem the voucher through our regular methods (through My Optus App, online, call 555 or SMS 9999) and there is an expiry on the recharge vouchers that will be sent.
If you would prefer a refund for your MyCredit balance, please call us on 133 937 to discuss your cheque refund option.

Epic Data move to the Flex Plus plan (from 9 November 2026)
We're retiring the Optus Epic Data plan and moving all customers to the Optus Flex Plus plan. If you've received a message from us, here's what you need to know.
Your plan will be automatically moved to the Optus Flex Plus plan from 9 November 2026. We'll send you an SMS and email around 30 days before your plan move date to the Flex Plus plan with more details.
Important Information about your move to Optus Flex Plus:
Customers migrating from Optus Prepaid Epic Data to Optus Flex Plus will experience the following changes:
Key changes:
- Price points will be different between the two plans, customers will have less data on some price points, less recharge price points to select from and some recharge prices will be higher on Flex Plus.
- The Expiry Extension feature allows you to accumulate up to a maximum of 84 days if you recharge before expiry on the Epic Data plan. This feature is not available on Flex Plus, and any remaining expiry days will carry over when you are moved to Flex Plus. Expiry Extension days do not apply to some inclusions on Flex Plus. Please see table 2 for full details about your expiry extension days and inclusions.
- At the entry level, Flex Plus gives customers longer expiry but less data for a higher price. The Epic Data plan $12 includes 7GB for 5 days, while the Flex Plus plan $15 includes 6GB for 7 days.
- Standard International (from Australia) calling works differently. Epic Data gives unlimited standard international calls from $35 and above to a fixed list of 15 countries, while Flex Plus moves to Zone 1 and Zone 2 country groups, with minute allowances varying by recharge amount and unlimited Zone 1 only on selected higher tiers. All 15 countries listed in the Epic Data plan are available in the Zone 1 country group.
See for full list of Zone 1 and Zone 2 destination list - Epic Data charges separately for standard international SMS, while Flex Plus includes 50 international SMS on every price points.
- Expiry options change. Epic Data focused on 5-day, 10-day and 28-day recharges, while Flex Plus offers 7-day, 28-day, 186-day and 365-day options.
- Data rollover stays broadly similar. Both plans support rollover up to 200GB, when you recharge before expiry or maintain an active AutoRecharge.
- AutoRecharge works differently on Flex Plus, on Optus Flex Plus plans your service will automatically recharge on expiry or when you reach a low data balance of 200MB (whichever comes first). It is not possible to recharge on expiry only.
Table 1 and 3 is a summary only. These summaries do not reflect any AutoRecharge price points and inclusions, special discounts, bonus data or promotions which may apply from time to time. |---|---|
|
Remaining recharge, inclusions and expiry days |
Current Epic Data recharge inclusions and expiry days, data rollover values, and add-on purchases will be carried over when you move to the Flex Plus plan |
| Expiry Extension |
The Expiry Extension feature allows you to accumulate up to a maximum of 84 days if you recharge before expiry on the Epic Data plan. These inclusions are standard data, standard national calls, SMS & MMS. The Expiry Extension days carried over will not apply to any Flex Plus inclusions that were not available on the Epic Data plan, these inclusions are International standard talk to zone 1 and zone 2, and international standard SMS. Example: If you purchased a $44 Flex Plus recharge (28 expiry days included) and had 50 days expiry extension days carried over, you will have 50 days to use your standard data, national calls, SMS &MMS, while new international inclusions expire after 28 days. |
|
Data Rollover balance |

Voucher Customer Move to the Flex Plus plan (from 28 September 2026)
We’re moving all customers on the Epic Data, Epic Value, My Prepaid Mobile Broadband, Prepaid Data Only and Flex Plus Casual plans (End of Life - EOL Plans) who have recharged via voucher in the last 12 months (this excludes customers who have AutoRecharge on) to the Flex Plus plan from 28 September 2026.
Your plan will be automatically moved to the Optus Flex Plus plan from the 28 September 2026. We'll send you an SMS and email 30 days before your plan move date to the Flex Plus plan with full details.
Important Information about your move to Optus Flex Plus:
Each of our EOL plans have a distinct recharge structure: fixed data buckets per price point, capped or legacy network speeds, limited or no international calling inclusions, and in some cases, pay-per-use or credit-deduction models. By contrast, Optus Flex Plus is inclusion-based plan that offers unlimited standard national calls and SMS/MMS across all price points, uncapped 4G and 5G speeds, bundled international talk minutes to Zone 1 and Zone 2 destinations, 50 international SMS, data rollover of up to 200GB, and AutoRecharge incentives including a $4 per recharge discount and Unlimited Data Weekends (UDW) on eligible price points.
See below tables 1-4 for plan comparison summary of your plan.
Optus Prepaid Epic Data move to Optus Flex Plus
What’s different to your first Flex Plus plan recharge: Please note data inclusions in some price points is comparably less on Flex Plus and unlimited standard calls to 16 countries is not available on Flex Plus. Instead Flex Plus has capped minutes in Zones 1 and 2 list of countries, as detailed in Table 1 below. Any MyCredit balances accrued will be compensated with a recharge voucher, and the MyCredit feature will no longer be available on Flex Plus.
Add-on features may differ, $10 travel credit, $20 Extras Credit and $5, $10 (7 days) and $20 MyData add-ons will not continue the Flex Plus plans. Please check add-ons available on Flex Plus.

What carries over at my move to the Flex Plus plan:
When you are moved to the Flex Plus plan here’s what happens based on your credit balance at the time:
Old Vouchers mean Optus recharge vouchers purchased on or before 29 September 2026 at the following price points $13, $39, $49, $59, $180, $350. Old Vouchers will no longer be available for purchase from 30 September 2026.
| Item | Outcomes of your plan move to the Flex Plus Plan |
|---|---|
| If you are moved to the Flex Plus plan before 30 September 2026, any vouchers redeemed before that date will be carried over. | All original EOL plan recharge inclusions and expiry periods will be carried over when you move to Flex Plus, and there’s no change to you until your first recharge on the Flex Plus plan. |
| If you are moved to Flex Plus after 30 September 2026, any Old Vouchers redeemed after that date will receive Flex Plus inclusions |
Recharge vouchers will be redeemed onto the Flex Plus plan. Customers will receive pre-30 September 2026 Flex Plus inclusions and expiry dates. Please see Updates to Voucher Recharge (30 September 2026). If you are not happy with the Flex Plus inclusions or the change, please call our team on 133 937 to discuss a refund of your vouchers |
| MyCredit balance |
Any MyCredit balances will not be carried over when you are moved to the Flex Plus plan. MyCredit balances will be compensated by Optus. Please see table 6 below for customer compensation details. If you would prefer a refund for your MyCredit balance, please call us on 133 937 to discuss your cheque refund option. |
| Active add-ons |
Any add-ons you purchased prior to your move to Flex Plus will be carried over and will continue until the add on expiry period ends or until inclusions are used, whichever comes first. $10 travel credit, $20 Extras Credit and $5, $10 (7 days) and $20 MyData add-ons available on selected EOL plans will not continue on the Flex Plus plans. Add on inclusions may differ on Flex Plus. Please check Add-ons available on Flex Plus. |
| Voucher changes | Updates to Voucher Recharge (30 September 2026) |
MyCredit Balance Compensation:
MyCredit is a dollar credit balance that is provided on some legacy plans. MyCredit balance may accrue on some EOL plans and rather than having bundled inclusions like Flex Plus, these MyCredit balances work on a pay-as-you-go model where an amount is deducted from your MyCredit balance for additional usage.
Customers with MyCredit balances will automatically be sent a Flex Plus plan recharge voucher equal to the value of the maximum amount of their MyCredit balance as set out in table 6 below.

What are my options if I don't want to move or want to move early?
Your current EOL plan will be retired. and unfortunately staying on your current plan is not an option.
- To make sure you get the most of your move we recommend waiting until your scheduled plan change date. Moving to Flex Plus early means you’ll lose your remaining EOL plan recharge and inclusions, and MyCredit recharge compensation (if eligible). Plan migration offers will not be available to you. For more information on plan migration offers please see our Plan Change Offers page. If you’d like to move to the Flex Plus plan before the scheduled plan move date, please contact us on 133 937 to speak to us, including refund options.
- If your recharge is due to expire before your planned move date, you can choose not to recharge and find an alternative service.
- If you'd prefer not to stay with Optus, please contact us on 133 937 before you port your number out to another provider to discuss your refund options. No cancellation fees apply. Please note, if you port-out you will lose any remaining End of Life plan recharge and inclusions.
- You cannot opt out of the plan move to Flex Plus and remain on your End of Life plan, as the plans will be retired.
- To discuss your options or request a refund, please call us on 133 937.

If you prefer a refund, call 133 937 to discuss a cheque refund.
When you first go to recharge on Flex Plus after the move

MyCredit Balance Compensation:
MyCredit is a dollar balance used to pay for usage outside your current plan’s included allowances. It won’t transfer to Flex Plus, so we’ll provide a Flex Plus recharge voucher based on your maximum MyCredit balance: $15 for balances of $0–$15, $64 for $15.01–$64, $200 for $64.01–$200 and $395 for $200.01–$395. For balances from $395 to $500, you’ll receive a $395 voucher plus a cheque for the difference. We’ll let you know which voucher you’ll receive; it may take up to 72 hours after your move to Flex Plus, will have an expiry date and can be redeemed through My Optus, online, by calling 555 or SMSing 9999. If you prefer a refund, call 133 937 to discuss a cheque refund.
When you first go to recharge on Flex Plus after the move
- Choose your Flex Plus recharge: You'll only be able to recharge on Flex Plus. You can do this via the My Optus app, recharge online, or via AutoRecharge. For all recharge options go to our recharge options page to find out more.
Once you're on Flex Plus, you'll be unable to change back to your old plan. You can log into the My Optus app to see your Optus Flex Plus recharge plan, inclusions and expiry. You can also check this by calling 555 or texting 'MENU' to 9999 and following the prompts.
Using Flex Plus with a modem or tablet
Optus Flex Plus includes standard national and international calls and SMS/MMS, however these features may not be accessible on modem or tablet devices depending on your device type. Your data inclusions will continue to work normally on your modem or tablet.
If you purchased an Optus modem and are not happy with the plan changes, you can call us to discuss unlocking your modem. Unlock fees can be waived when you call us on 133 937.
To find out more about Optus modem changes please refer to Mobile Broadband (MBB) SIM and Modem Activations (from 30 September 2026).
If Optus has supplied you with an Optus Internet Assistance Kit during Mass Service Disruption or while resolving a fault with your home internet, your service will be moved to the Flex Plus plan, your inclusions will also be moved with the plan change and you can continue to use it as you have been.
What are my options if I don't want to change plans?
Your current Prepaid Data Only plan is being retired, which means all customers will be moved to the Flex Plus plan automatically. Unfortunately, staying on your current plan is not an option.
- To make sure you get the most of your move we recommend waiting until your scheduled plan change date. Moving to Flex Plus early means you’ll lose your remaining Prepaid Data Only plan recharge and inclusions, and MyCredit recharge compensation (if eligible) and eligibility to additional recharge pricing. The temporary plan change pricing (until 1 April 2027) in table 3 will not be available to you.
- If you’d like to move to the Flex Plus plan before the scheduled plan move date, please contact us on 133 937 to speak to us, including refund options.
- You can port your number out to another provider at any time. No cancellation fees apply. Contact us on 133 937 to arrange a refund prior to porting out.
- If you have an Optus modem and you're not happy with the plan changes, we can help you unlock it at no cost — just call us on 133 937 and we'll waive any unlock fees.
- If you'd like to talk through your options or request a refund of your current recharge on your Prepaid Mobile Broadband plan, our team is here to help — call us on 133 937.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does Optus Flex Plus compare to my Prepaid Data Only plan?
Your existing data balance and remaining expiry will carry over when your plan changes from 9 November 2026. When you first recharge on Flex Plus, your inclusions will apply based on the price point you choose. See Comparison Table 2 above. For full Flex Plus plan details and available recharge options, download the Critical Information Summary (PDF) for full details.
Why is my Optus Prepaid plan changing?
We’re simplifying our plans and moving My Prepaid Data Only plan customers across to Optus Flex Plus. This change means your existing plan will no longer be available, and your service will be automatically updated for you.
What plan will I be moved to?
You’ll be moved to Optus Flex Plus, one of our current prepaid mobile plan.
Will I lose my current data or expiry?
No. Your current data balance and remaining expiry period on your Prepaid Data Only plan will be carried over when your plan is updated. You won’t notice any difference until you make your first recharge on Flex Plus.
What happens to my AutoRecharge?
If you currently have AutoRecharge set up, it will be turned off when your plan is updated. Once you’ve been moved to Flex Plus, you can easily re-enable AutoRecharge through My Optus app or by texting ‘MENU’ to 9999. We’d recommend setting it up once you’ve received confirmation that your plan has changed. On Optus Flex Plus plans, your service will automatically recharge on expiry or when you reach a low data balance of 200MB (whichever comes first). It is not possible to recharge on expiry only. Find out more about AutoRecharge on Flex Plus.
Can I still use my modem or tablet?
Yes. You can continue to use your existing modem or tablet device — your plan is being updated, but your device stays the same. Please note that voice and SMS inclusions on Flex Plus may not be accessible on modem or tablet devices depending on device compatibility, but your data inclusions will continue to work normally.
Can I stay on my current plan?
Your current Prepaid Mobile Broadband plan is being retired, which means all customers will be moved across to Optus Flex Plus. Unfortunately, staying on your current plan is not an option.
Do I need to do anything?
No action is needed — the change will happen automatically. If you had AutoRecharge set up on your previous plan, you’ll just need to re-enable it on Flex Plus via My Optus app after your plan is updated. Find out more about AutoRecharge on Flex Plus.
How will I know when the change has happened?
We’ll send you an email and/or SMS around 30 days before your plan change date with your expected change date and what’s changing. Once your plan has been successfully updated, you’ll receive a confirmation email and/or SMS.
