Samsung Galaxy A21s
This little ripper is perfect for your little ripper. It’s got all the best parts of a Samsung Galaxy phone – including a 6.5” Infinity-O Display, a long-lasting 5,000mAh (typical*) battery, Quad Cam with a hi-res 48MP main camera and fingerprint locking technology. And the best part? The device clocks in at under $10 per month – just $9.12 - when you add it to a SIM plan and pay interest free device repayments for 36 months**.
* Based on independent third party testing. Battery capacity value of a ‘typical’ user. Rated (i.e. minimum) battery capacity value is 4,900 mAh. Actual battery capacity value may vary. See user manual for instructions on optimum battery life.
** Interest free device payments if you remain on any month-to-month SIM plan for 36 months. Min. cost $328.32 plus your chosen plan fees.
Apple iPhone SE
Are you wrangling a teenager at home? If so, let us introduce you to the newest piece of tech we’ve got: the iPhone SE. It’s slick, it’s pretty, it’s got all the toys and it will buy a couple of months of good behaviour from your prepubescent.
We love a good piece of tech and this one really does deliver. For the teenage student they’ll love the camera, especially if they’re a visual arts student. Aside from that it runs like a dream and is pretty cute. Need some more budget friendly phone options? Check out our favourite first phones here.
Apple Watch Series 6
Why give a student an Apple Watch Series 6? Here’s a couple of reasons. One a lot of students get distracted by their phone, mainly social media (like TikTok) on their phone in class. So, to alleviate some phone temptation, gift them a smart watch so the only notifications they see are important ones.
Secondly, as much as we love our tiny tots, they are quite forgetful. So, if one day they’re late for the bus and they’re running out the door but have left their phone on the kitchen table, you can rest assured that they’re still contactable via their wrist (read more about smart watch blood oxygen sensors and fall detection here).
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2
Not jazzed about spending a tonne of money on a smart watch for a kid? Consider this gem, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2. Easy, breezy, looks great and you can strap it to their wrist knowing they’re contactable.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A7
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 is an exciting little device for your wee-students. There’s no need for them to lug around heavy laptops from class to class. It’s light and runs in a similar way to a PC and has the ability to sync with a Galaxy smartphone so they won’t miss calls or messages. It’s compatible with a stylus so they can write notes in it like one of those paper-analogue notebooks. It also comes with Samsung Kids to help them start their digital journey in a safe way, with the ability to set restrictions on playtimes, apps and contracts and give you usage reports so you can see their activity.
Family plans
How about a plan for the whole family? Keeping the fam together has never been easier with our excellent Optus Family Plan. With 4 SIMs and a massive 250GB of monthly data to share and an added subscription to McAfee® Safe Family app, the tiny terrors can peruse the internet safely. If this sounds right for you and your family, you can check them all out here.
Speed Pack Five Home Superfast
Maybe it’s not about making school more tolerable, maybe it’s having a little something-something for them at home? Introducing our Speed Pack Five Home Superfast. This pack has those insane upload speeds ideal for 4k and 8K concurrent streaming, so multiple devices and TVs can stream shows and games online (check out these gamer gifts) at the same time. That means they can spend some quality time with the new tablet you got them for Christmas without lagging the newest episode of The Mandalorian on living room TV.
There are just a few suggestions to help the students in your life readjust to scholarly life. If you’re not completely sold on the above or need to get something all the kids in your house can enjoy check out our awesome home internet plans.
