Mickey Madison plays a young escort from Brooklyn named Ani who is down on her luck until she impulsively marries the son of a Russian oligarch who opens her world to riches and a seemingly new and better life.

Unfortunately good things don’t always last. Once the news of this sudden marriage reaches Russia, things start to turn ugly as his parents set out to New York and do whatever it takes to have this marriage annulled.

Directed by child actor turned director Bradley Corbet, The Brutalist stars Adrien Brody as Holocaust survivor Laszlo Toth who emigrates to America by himself after the world war leaving behind his wife and luscious career to build a new home for himself and hopefully one day, his family.

Toth settles in Pennsylvania, where after an almost random encounter with a rich businessman changes his life forever.

We all know him now, but once a upon a time – Bob Dylan, was a complete unknown.

In this biographical drama, it tells the story of 19-year-old Bob Dylan arriving in New York City with only his guitar and his dream trying to start his musical career. A Complete Unknown delves into Dylan’s rise to fame, the relationships he builds along the way, his iconic performances and how his unique sound and influence makes it’s way around the world.

It’s been over 20 years since Ralph Fiennes has been Oscar nominated and his performance in Conclave certainly secured his place at this year’s ceremony.

Conclave also stars John Lithgow, Isabella Rossellini and Stanley Tucci and centres around Cardinal Lawrence (Fiennes) who is given the task of selecting a new Pope, however this secretive and ancient tradition is not as easy as it seems. Set in the Vatican, Cardinal Lawrence finds himself in the centre of religious politics and conspiracies that could forever change the foundations or even social respect of the Catholic Church.

Following the success of Dune, Dune: Part Two had fans waiting with excitement – and thankfully it did not disappoint, with both audiences and critics praising the film on all fronts.

This highly anticipated sequel continues the saga of Paul Atreides as he seeks to avenge his family and fulfill his destiny for the desert planet Arrakis – but like all warpaths, tough decisions will need to be made to save the future.

Emilia Perez is a foreign language musical film that follows three woman, each on their own pursuit of happiness. Cartel leader Emilia Perez played by Karla Sofia Gascon enlists undervalued lawyer Rita (Zoe Saldana) to help stage her death so that she can live a new life as a woman.

The film also stars Selena Gomez and is directed Jacques Audiard.

Set in Brazil during the 1970’s, I’m Still Here follows Eunice Paiva – a mother of five whose life is thrown upside down when her husband is forcibly taken from their home by the military police and forced to join the cause of the current dictatorship.

Left with almost nothing to fend for herself or her family, Eunice must navigate the chaotic society she now lives in now for the safety of her family – but when push comes to shove, Eunice finds her voice and purpose. Overtime, the once homemaker transforms herself into an activist for the people and fights for rights against the regime.

Starring Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley, The Substance is the only horror film to be present at this year’s Oscars. A fading celebrity desperate to maintain her beauty and relevancy explores the dark side of the black market to find unique ways to keep up appearance. In her search she experiments with an unregulated substance.

This substance is a cell- replicating drug that temporarily creates a younger and better version of its taker, all it requires it that you share time.

A film adaption of the popular Broadway musical, Wicked stars Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande and Michelle Yeoh in one of the years most successful films (both monetary and virality).

Wicked follows the untold story of the witches of Oz, focusing on the unlikely friendship the popular Galinda and the outcast Elphaba. Elphaba is a misunderstood young woman who is judged immediately by her green skin whilst Galinda is the girl everyone wants to be friends with. The two meet at Shiz University in the land of Oz, however their newly formed friendship is tested after a chance encounter with the Wonderful Wizard.
