Streaming Optus Sport to other devices

Optus Sport will be switching off on 1 August 2025. Find out more.

There are a number of ways you can stream Optus Sport to other devices, such as casting to smart TVs.

Optus Sport supports Apple AirPlay between two different Apple devices (e.g. from an iPhone or iPad to an Apple TV). However, for the best viewing experience, we recommend you download the Optus Sport app on your Apple TV.

If you're having difficulties with Apple AirPlay and require troubleshooting steps, see this Apple Help article - If screen mirroring or streaming isn't working on your AirPlay-compatible device.

The Apple AirPlay feature is also available on other non-Apple devices,  such as newer models of Samsung and LG Smart TVs.

Please note that Optus Sport doesn't provide support for AirPlay between these device combinations (e.g. from an iPhone to a Samsung TV) and you may experience some difficulties using this feature.

If you have Samsung or LG Smart TV, we recommend downloading the Optus Sport app on your TV Directly for the best streaming experience.

For information on which devices can be used to download the Optus Sport app, see How to watch Optus Sport → Samsung TV / LG Smart TV.

Screen casting allows you to transmit video and sound in real-time from a phone, tablet or computer to another device, such as a smart TV, whilst connected to the same WiFi network. When casting, you can continue using your mobile device as a remote.

Optus Sport supports casting to compatible devices using the Chromecast standard, such as the latest Chromecast with Google TV and Amazon Fire TV.

Make sure you have the latest software updates installed on the Chromecast device and on the device you are casting from. If casting from a browser, make sure you use the latest version of the Chrome web browser.

Where possible, we recommend downloading the Optus Sport app on your device directly for the best streaming experience.

For more information on which devices support casting and other devices that can be used to download the Optus Sport app, see How to watch Optus Sport.

If you're having difficulties with casting and require troubleshooting steps, see this Google help article - Troubleshooting Chromecast connection.

Screen mirroring allows a phone, tablet or computer to wirelessly share an exact replica of its screen on another device scree, like Apple TV or a smart TV. You share a "mirror" image of your device to your intended destination.

For Apple devices, the feature is similar to AirPlay and often found in the same menu on your device.

Optus Sport doesn't provide support for screen mirroring and you may experience some difficulties using this feature, particularly if you're accessing Optus Sport through a web browser.

Where possible, we recommend downloading the Optus Sport app on your device directly for the best streaming experience.
