Optus HFC aerial cable removal

As the nbn® has been rolled out around Australia, we have shut down the Optus Cable network and will be removing the inactive aerial cable from your home. The information below will help answer any questions you may have.

Do I need to be at home when the cable is removed?

No, provided a technician can gain access to your premises and the cable connection point, you do not need to be at home. If you need to discuss access, please contact us directly on this number.

Call us on 133 937 available Mon-Fri: 9am - 6pm, AEST.

What does the removal of the cable include?

The cable will be powered down and cut away at the entry points where the cable enters the house. The hole will be sealed/patched to prevent any vermin from getting in.

What does patching of my home include?

Patching refers to the sealing of points where the aerial cable enters the house to prevent any vermin from getting in.

Will my yard be dug up?

No, as Optus cables are above ground, we won't be digging in your yard.

How long will it take to remove the aerial cable from my home?

The removal of the aerial cable from your premises should take approximately 20 minutes.

What happens if the technician does not attend during the timeframe communicated?

If the technician cannot visit your property, for example, due to inclement weather, the work will be rescheduled to a later date and you will be notified.

Will there be any disruption to my current service(s)?

No, we are only removing the inactive aerial cable to your property as it is no longer required.
