How to divert an Office Phone

You can divert calls from your Office Phone to another phone by activating the Call Divert feature on your service.

Once you've activated Call Divert online, you just need to follow the handset instructions below by clicking on the relevant option (please note that activation may take up to 48 hours):

Business - 1 to 5 employees

From your Office Phone:

  1. Lift the receiver and wait for dial tone
  2. Dial *78
  3. Then the phone number (including the area code) you want to divert your calls to, or press a memory dialling button if the number is stored in your phone
  4. Listen for 2 short beeps to confirm the diversion is active
  5. Replace the receiver

Note: * is the star / asterisk key located beneath the number 7 on most keypads.

From your Office Phone:

  1. Lift the receiver and wait for dial tone
  2. Dial #78
  3. Listen for 2 short beeps to confirm removal of the diversion
  4. Replace the receiver

Business - 6 to 300 employees

Directline

  • Divert immediate: * + 9 + 1 + dial number for diversion + #
  • Divert on busy: * + 9 + 2 + dial number for diversion + #
  • Divert no answer: * + 9 + 3 + dial number for diversion + #
  • Divert immediate: # + 9 + 1 + #
  • Divert on busy: # + 9 + 2 + #
  • Divert no answer: # + 9 + 3 + #

Multiline

The diversions outlined below will need to be set up by your PABX maintainer.

  • Divert immediate: * + 9 + 1 + dial number for diversion + #
  • Divert on busy: * + 9 + 2 + dial number for diversion + #
  • Divert no answer: * + 9 + 3 + dial number for diversion + #
  • Divert immediate: # + 9 + 1 + #
  • Divert on busy: # + 9 + 2 + #
  • Divert no answer: # + 9 + 3 + #

If you're not able to set up your diversions manually for your Directline or Multiline services, contact us on 13 33 43 and we'll set these up for you.
