Changes to old plans | Business customers

As our business customer needs and technology evolve, we continue to update and improve our products. This means we'll be saying goodbye to our old plans and moving customers to some of our newer plans.

All customers being moved from one of our old plans to one of our newer plans will be contacted directly via email or mail. This communication will include the following specific details of their new plan:

  • The name of the plan and link to the Critical Information Summary (CIS)
  • The new monthly standard price
  • The new monthly data allowance
  • Any other major changes specific to their service

See below for additional information and frequently asked questions.

If we've let you know that you'll be receiving a discount on your new plan, this will be applied to your plan per month on a 12/24 month or ongoing basis as specified. You can easily check this in the email or mail you received. Please note that your plan price will revert to the standard plan price after the discount period.

Once your plan has been changed, you'll see your discounts on your service immediately. Your discount will appear on your next monthly bill.

If you decide to cancel your service or move to an ineligible plan, you'll no longer be eligible for your discount. These offers are not available with other offers, unless specified.

Your International Calling Add-on includes international talk & text from Australia to standard numbers in Group 1 destinations: including Brazil, Brunei, Cambodia, Canada, China, Colombia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Laos, Lebanon, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Romania, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, UK, USA, Vietnam.

If the communication you received states that international calling will be added to your plan, this will show on your bill as an add-on at no cost.

International roaming will no longer be included in your plan. You can explore the roaming options available on your new plan here.

Leasing plans are no longer available for sale. You will be moved to one of our newest mobile plans as detailed in the communication you received, which does not include the lease of a device from Optus. You will need to bring your own device.

Unleashed plans which had an unlimited data allowance are no longer available for sale. You will be moved to one of our newest mobile plans as detailed in the communication you received. Please refer to the plan table in that communication and your new plan Critical Information Summary (CIS) for details on your new plan.

The Business Builder Discount will not carry over to your new Business Choice Plan. Please give us a call on 133 343 to discuss the best options available to you.

Any bonus data you had on your old plan will not carry over to your new plan (unless specified in the communication you received), as most new plans include more data than the standard inclusion of your old plan.

In many cases, we have also added bonus data (depending on your plan) on top of the standard inclusion for your new plan.

You can view your new data allowance, which includes the new bonus data, in the plan table in the email or mail you received.

If you have previously purchased additional add-ons (such as extra data, international talk & text, or international roaming), these will not carry over to your new plan.

If you would like to re-purchase additional add-ons, you can view the add-on options available on your new plan via the 'Service' tab in My Optus app.

Note: these options and their price may be different from what you had previously used with your old plan.

Your new plan does not include Trade Up. If you decide to take up a new device with OptusPay you have the option to take up Optus Upgrade & Protect on eligible devices, which provides early upgrade options for your new device.

We reached out to customers from 14 October 2022 letting them know that streaming services will now use data included in their plan. If you had data free streaming, it won't carry over to our newer plans. Content from streaming services such as:

  • Netflix
  • Stan
  • ABC iview
  • ABC Kids iview
  • iHeart Radio
  • Spotify
  • Optus Sport

Will use your data allowance on your new plan. To help keep on top of your monthly data allowance, we'll continue to send you usage alerts. See how to manage your usage here.

If you have an Apple Music subscription currently billed through us, we'll no longer support billing for this subscription on your new plan. You can subscribe for Apple Music directly through Apple.

Network Priority is not available on your new plan. This means that your data traffic will not get higher priority than other Optus customers using our mobile network.

Your plan is no longer in contract and all our new plans have no lock-in contracts to provide customers with greater flexibility. You may also have a 12/24/36 month device repayment plan with us for your phone or other device, this isn't changing.

There's nothing you need to do, the change will happen automatically after the date provided in the communication sent to you. The change may not happen on that exact date, and could take a few weeks. We will let you know if there is a significant delay in your plan migration.

Once you've been moved to the new plan(s), you'll be able to review your new plan(s) details in My Optus app or My Account, with changes reflected on your next bill.

Yes, your direct debit/payment amount will automatically update from your next billing cycle, it's just a case of planning for the new debit/payment amount for all services on your account.

If you would like to discuss your options, get in touch with your Account Manager or you can contact us 24/7 in My Optus app or call 133 343.

Yes, you will still be able to share data across all eligible Mobile and Mobile Broadband plans on the same billing account.
