Changes to Direct Carrier Billing

From 30 September 2021, we're removing the ability to use Direct Carrier Billing.

Direct Carrier Billing allows you to add a charge to your Optus bill for Third Party Content provider purchases (Spotify, Google Play, and Microsoft Store) or have the charge deducted from your Prepaid credit (Spotify subscriptions and Microsoft Store purchases only).

To continue using these services, you'll need to update your payment method directly with the Third Party Content provider. See the How do I update my payment method section below.

Note: Fetch, McAfee Safe Family and McAfee Multi Access for Business charges are not impacted by this change and will still appear on your Optus bill.

How do I update my payment method?

Your payment method will need to be updated directly via your Third Party Content provider (Spotify, Google Play, Microsoft Store).

To update your Spotify payment details:

  1. Log in to your account page at spotify.com/account
  2. Under Your plan, click UPDATE next to your payment method
  3. Enter a new payment method

For more information, visit this Spotify support page.

To change your payment method with Google Play, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Google Play app
  2. At the top right, tap the profile icon
  3. Tap Payments & subscriptions
  4. Tap Payment methods
  5. Choose the payment method you want to add
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions

To view payment methods, visit this Microsoft Store page.
