With the growing requirements for our nation and the expanding Australian space industry, we’ve broadened our definition of the workforce pipeline to include schools through our STEM Outreach Program, as well as doubling intake into our Optus Satellite Graduate Program. Our focus is to create long-term structured career pathways, connecting education providers and industry to feed current and future workforce requirements.
We’ve also partnered with the Space Industry Association of Australia (SIAA) to fund an Optus Industry Fellow to develop and implement a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program for the space industry. The intent is to draw upon best practices found in similar programs across accounting, legal and engineering.

Space Ambassadors
Our Space Ambassadors are a collective of past and current satellite graduates who support our Belrose School Tour and broader STEM outreach activities.
Our STEM outreach activities, supported by our Space Ambassadors, aim to inspire and influence young minds and to enable them to pursue a career in space in Australia. Primary schools, high schools, universities and their teachers are all important target groups for our outreach activities.
Our Space Ambassadors have all had their own journey into the space industry and we aim to share these stories, as well as giving an entertaining, interactive presentation on what Optus’ role is within the space industry.
