Samsung Galaxy S26+ review

The Samsung Galaxy S26+ mobile phone is a great handset that fills a mix of needs, offering the exceptional performance of the base model Samsung Galaxy S26 and adding atop a gorgeous, large display.

In the Galaxy S26 family, the Samsung Galaxy S26+ phone sits between the standard Galaxy S26 and the powerful Galaxy S26 Ultra – and it could be the perfect compromise if you don’t want the smaller Galaxy S26, but don’t need the extra premium features of the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The Galaxy S26+ mostly leans closer to the standard S26 in terms of specs, as it is underpinned by the same powerful processor and offers the same reliable cameras. The big difference is obviously the display, which is not just larger but also offers a higher resolution, making it better for streaming content and viewing gorgeous images. There’s also a larger battery in the S26+ than the one in the S26.

Read on below to see why we recommend this phone. Alternatively, you can read our Samsung Galaxy S26 review or our Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra review.

Samsung Galaxy S26+ phone review: features and design

  • Powerful new Exynos 2600 processor
  • 12GB RAM
  • Four sleek colourways
  • IP68 rated (2)

The Samsung Galaxy S26+ phone is the middle child of the Galaxy S26 family, with a fresh and premium look that sets it apart from earlier Galaxy S generations. Refinement is a big component of this year’s Galaxy S family – improving upon what already made the Galaxy S phones so good – including processor upgrades and Galaxy AI updates (2).

Games play extremely well on the S26+, with the incredible performance aided by a redesigned Vapour Chamber that spreads heat more efficiently.

Aesthetically, the Samsung Galaxy S26+ now has a camera bump protruding from the back, where the three rear-facing lenses are housed. The phone is available in four sleek colourways, including Sky Blue, Black, Cobalt Violet and White.

Dimensionally, the Samsung S26+ remains the same to its S25+ predecessor, offering a lightweight build and fitted with a gorgeous 6.7” display. While being physically larger than the standard Galaxy S26, the Galaxy S26+ is still comfortable to hold in hand and is practically sized for a pocket.

Samsung Galaxy S26+ camera review

  • 50MP main camera
  • 10MP telephoto camera
  • 12MP ultrawide camera
  • 12MP selfie camera

The Samsung Galaxy S26+ comes with the same cameras that come on the Samsung Galaxy S26, perfect for capturing high quality images filled with colour and in a wide range of lighting conditions. While the Galaxy S26+ hasn’t received a massive camera set redesign, the phone has been given a buff to its video abilities in line with the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Samsung has introduced Super Steady Horizontal Lock, which keeps your video recording smooth when the phone is moving. Think about if you’re at a concert, or if you’re recording video while running – the phone is able to keep a steady picture going without producing a shot that bounces around.

Samsung Galaxy S26+ display review

  • 6.7” Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display
  • 3120 x 1440 resolution
  • 2600 nits peak brightness

Samsung hasn’t brought about any sweeping changes with the Galaxy S26+, however the screen remains dependable and perfect for watching videos and streaming high quality content. The display is slightly larger than the screen featured on the Samsung S26, with a higher resolution to boot.

Atop that display is a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protective layer, with the screen capable of 2,600 nits peak brightness. A 120hz refresh rate makes the phone’s animations smooth and responsive, while also allowing for impressive gaming performance .

Should you buy the Samsung Galaxy S26+?

The Samsung Galaxy S26+ is a brilliant phone that’s perfect for anybody looking for a larger screen on their everyday handset. This phone can keep up with all your daily needs, from phone calls to impromptu streaming, to even some hardcore gaming if you have some downtime.

As the mobile phone is priced between the Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26 Ultra, you may consider the Galaxy S26+ to be the “just right” device, if you want a slightly bigger display than that on the base model, but don’t want to go all the way to the top of the range.

That being said, we’d also recommend the Samsung S26 as the entry level device to the S26 family, along with the S26 Ultra if you’re after the best performance that this generation of Samsung phones has to offer.
