Getting the entertainment you love is so much easier these days. No longer do you have to study the TV guide to make sure you don’t miss your favourite TV show or movie or worry about copping late fees when you forget to make the return trip to Blockbuster or Video Ezy.
Now it’s all about streaming straight to your device so you get to choose exactly what you watch and when you watch it. It’s the best for those of us who love a good binge sesh, or the ones who like to watch their shows and movies outside of prime-time hours.
It’s even easier with Optus SubHub, where you can manage your paid subscriptions in one place and even get a discount. And now with Paramount+ being added to SubHub, you’ll have access to even more fantastic shows and movies—from one of the biggest studios out there.
Plus, you can even give Paramount+ a go for 7 days for $0 when you sign up as a new or lapsed subscriber. With all the great stuff they have on there, from new awesome shows to the classic movies, we reckon you’ll want to keep streaming for longer than 7 days.
This one is for the gamers. Hugely popular video game franchise Halo has been turned into a TV series specifically for Paramount+. The TV series is set in its own timeline separate from the games, so it may have a few surprises up its sleeve yet and is easy to jump into for those who haven’t played any of the games. Set during a 26th century war between the United Nations Space Command and alien race the Covenant, Halo has a big sci-fi action feel, as well as deeply personal stories throughout.
A fantastic example of prestige television, The First Lady features the acting powerhouses Viola Davis, Gillian Andreson and Michelle Pfieffer as different First Ladies of the United States. A new angle on the history of American politics, The First Lady explores the Obama, Roosevelt and Ford administrations from the political to the personal.
For all Trekkies, or those who have been curious about Star Trek, Paramount+ has you covered. From the classics of the original series and The Next Generation through to the new Discovery and Picard shows, there are 10 series and 13 movies in total to get through. So, it’s time to explore the final frontier and go where no one has gone before. Don’t forget your tricorder!
If you were big on Lost when it came out, here’s a new show that’ll fill the void left by Oceanic Flight 815. In Yellowjackets, a group of teenage girls survive a plane crash but then have to contend with the Ontario wilderness and all the dangers that come with it. Not to give too much away, but the show also flashes forward 25 years to the survivors and slowly reveals exactly what happened and what each of them had to go through in order to survive.
Another Paramount+ exclusive, 1883 is pure American cowboy. With Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as the leads, you’re sure to get your country fix from this prequel to Yellowstone. 1883 follows the Dutton family as they flee their life of poverty in Texas, seeking a better life across the Great Plains to Montana. A stellar cast backs up this classic American tale, and there’s nowhere else to watch it but Paramount+.
Same country, same time, but very different tale, The Gilded Age is about the boom of the 1880s in New York. From the creator of Downton Abbey, you can expect a similar exploration of class, wealth and status at a time when things have started to shift. There is a definite war between the idea of new and old wealth, and with Christine Baranski as the haughty well-to-do Agnes van Rhijn it’s sure to be a fun ride.
Mention The Godfather and movie buffs seem to nod sagely with a far-off glint in their eye. Many believe this to be one of the greatest movies ever made so no wonder there’s interest in behind-the-scenes lore.
Enter The Offer, a biographical drama miniseries that explores the experiences of its producer, Albert S. Ruddy in making the Francis Ford Coppola classic.
Get dropped into one of Hollywood’s golden ages to discover the real-life drama that went into the making of this ageless New York gangster story. Luckily both the cognoscenti and those who are new to The Godfather will be entertained and possibly, re-inspired to see the original again.
We’ve given you just a taste of what’s on offer at Paramount+. Beyond drama, you can watch blockbuster movies, exclusive new shows, live sport, Paramount+ Originals and thousands of hours of the world’s greatest stories. There’s content from Showtime (CBS), Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central and Paramount Pictures. Now all on Optus SubHub.
