Fashion & the future of STEAM: We’ve teamed with Vogue

Join us in a series of webinars as we talk tech with some of Australia’s industry-leading women.
STEAM fields aren’t just vital to the future, they are the future. What happens in the theory of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics today becomes the bricks and mortar of tomorrow.
That’s why, if we’re looking to build a world that’s open, inclusive and welcome to everyone, it’s important that we all have the opportunity to get on at the ground floor when it comes to building what happens next.
Traditionally, participation in the STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts and Mathematics) fields has leaned fairly heavily to the male side of the spectrum.
As a major employer of STEAM graduates, we have a significant investment in making sure that talent of any gender is given the chance to shine. And full disclosure – we’re hoping to help uncover some of tomorrow’s STEAM stars and snap them up for some big opportunities within our organisation.

Because we believe the world would be better if 100% of the brains had the opportunity to contribute to the groundbreaking discoveries these fields can uncover, we’ve partnered with Vogue Australia magazine on their Vogue Codes platform.
The series of discussions from highly respected and influential women in the industry is looking to shine a light on the possibilities a STEAM career can offer women everywhere.
"Optus partnering with Vogue Codes demonstrates our true commitment to supporting women in STEAM, both here in our organisation and outside of it.” said Optus Head of Marketing, Mel Hopkins.
“Society is becoming increasingly reliant on digital connection, so it's even more critical to encourage young women and girls to consider futures in STEAM."
We’re excited to help show women the possibilities in areas of innovation and change-making – breaking stereotypes and encouraging them to follow their passions.
