International Support

International Support – International Calling/Roaming

As a result of the recent events in the Middle East, Optus customers may find themselves with an increased need to contact relatives and friends located in the following countries:

• Bahrain
• Iran
• Israel
• Kuwait
• Oman
• Qatar
• Saudi Arabia
• United Arab Emirates.​

We will continue to closely monitor the situation and review the list of supported countries, providing updates as circumstances change.​

International Calling/SMS

Optus will be crediting international calling and SMS charges for calls from Australia to the countries listed above that are made from the 28th February 2026 – until the offer is withdrawn. From 3 March 2026, eligible Prepaid customers will also receive free standard international calls to the relevant countries. 

Calls/SMS made on eligible Consumer and Business Fixed and Postpaid Mobile plans in Australia will be credited. The credit will reflect on the relevant bill/invoice as “International Support Credit”.

Customers on Optus Choice Plus plans will first need to purchase the relevant Group 1, Group 2 or Group 3 International calling pack to access calling entitlements to the affected destinations. The credit for any Group 1, Group 2 or Group 3 international calling packs purchased and utilised during the offer period to call the countries listed above will appear on the customer’s next invoice.

Customers on Evolve Voice, Evolve Directline, Multiline & Optus Loop are excluded from this offer.

Optus Prepaid: Optus will be providing free standard international calls (but not SMS) from Australia to the countries listed above from the 3 March 2026 until the offer is withdrawn. This means any standard calls made from a Prepaid mobile voice service to the identified countries will be free and will not require the purchase of an international talk add on.  

International Roaming

Optus will be crediting international roaming charges for roaming usage in the countries listed above in the period 28th February 2026 – until the offer is withdrawn.

Roaming usage incurred on eligible Consumer and Business Postpaid Mobile plans will be credited. The credit will reflect on the relevant bill/invoice as “International Support Credit”.

Credits will be applied for any PAYG roaming charges, Optus Roaming Pass and Optus Daily roaming packs when used in the countries listed above.

Customers on Optus Choice Plus plans will first need to purchase an Optus daily roaming pack to access roaming entitlements in the countries listed above. The credit for any Optus daily roaming packs purchased and utilised during the offer period to roam in the countries will appear on the customer’s next invoice.

Customers on Evolve Voice, Evolve Directline, Multiline & Optus Loop are excluded from this offer.
