Prepaid eGift Card Rewards

Available from second recharge on new $40 and $50 Flex Plus plans

When you activate a $40 or $50 Flex Plus plan with AutoRecharge, you could be eligible for an eGift Card from your second recharge.

Simply set up AutoRecharge when you activate, keep it switched on, and after your next successful AutoRecharge you'll receive a link to claim your eGift Card. You'll need to redeem your code within 28 days, the message will include the expiry date. You'll be able to choose from a range of popular retailers, with your eGift Card sent straight to your email and mobile.

You'll remain eligible to receive an eGift Card on every recharge as long as you keep AutoRecharge enabled on the same $40 or $50 Flex Plus plan.

How it works

Step 1

Activate a $40 or $50 Flex Plus SIM with AutoRecharge set up.

Step 2

Keep AutoRecharge on. This is required to remain eligible.

Step 3

Complete your next AutoRecharge on the same $40 or $50 plan.

Step 4

Claim your eGift Card within 28 days. You'll receive a message with a claim link and code. Use the link to choose your eGift Card.

Step 5

Receive your eGift Card. After you've claimed it, your chosen eGift Card will be sent via SMS to your mobile and to the email on your account.

eGift Cards

When you claim your eGift Card, you'll be able to choose from a range of popular retailers. As at 27 April 2026 these include Amazon, Uber, Google Play and H&M.

The available eGift Cards may change from time to time. Full details, including any expiry information, are shown when you make your selection during the claim process.

How to redeem your eGift Card

Each eGift Card includes instructions on how to redeem it. This may be online, in-app, or in-store, depending on the retailer. You'll also find any expiry details and terms provided by the retailer on the eGift Card itself. We've highlighted the key information for each retailer in the FAQs below.

For safe keeping, we recommend saving your eGift Card to your phone's wallet so it's easy to access when you need it.

Eligibility & setup 

Who is eligible for an eGift Card?

You may be eligible if you activate a $40 or $50 Flex Plus plan with AutoRecharge set up and complete your second AutoRecharge on the same $40 or $50 recharge. You won't be eligible to receive your eGift Card if:

  • You cancel or turn off your AutoRecharge.
  • Your AutoRecharge amount is changed from the original $40 or $50 activation price point.
  • Your eligible service is cancelled, transferred or disconnected.
  • You change your service number or rate plan.
  • Not available in conjunction with a Postpaid to Prepaid service transfer.
  • Not available in conjunction with a SIM swap.
Do I need to set up AutoRecharge when I activate? 

Yes. AutoRecharge needs to be set up when you activate and remain switched on to stay eligible.

My AutoRecharge was not set up during activation, what do I do?

If you need to set up AutoRecharge after activation, you can do this by messaging us via My Optus App or calling the Optus contact centre on 133 937. You can manage your AutoRecharge settings via My Optus app or the 9999 SMS menu.

What happens if AutoRecharge is turned off? 

If AutoRecharge is turned off before your next AutoRecharge is completed, you won't be eligible for the eGift Card.

Does changing my plan affect my eligibility? 

Yes. Changing from your original $40 or $50 Flex Plus plan before completing your next AutoRecharge will mean you are no longer eligible.

Timing & claiming your eGift Card

When do I receive my eGift Card? 

After you complete your next AutoRecharge, you'll receive a message within 72 hours. This will include instructions on how to claim your eGift Card.

Why is the eGift Card provided after the next AutoRecharge? 

The eGift Card is connected to maintaining an active AutoRecharge and completing the next scheduled recharge on your $40 or $50 Flex Plus plan.

How will I know when I can claim my eGift Card? 

You'll receive a message by SMS and email with a claim link and code. If you follow the link, you'll be taken to a webpage to select an eGift Card from the range available.

How long do I have to claim my eGift Card? 

You'll need to claim your eGift Card within 28 days of receiving the claim code. The date of expiry will be included in the message you receive.

What happens if I don't claim my eGift Card in time? 

If the claim code expires before it's used, the eGift Card can't be claimed.

What does it mean to "claim" an eGift Card? 

Claiming means using the link and code we send you to choose your eGift Card.

How do I receive my eGift Card after I've claimed it? 

Once you've claimed it, your selected eGift Card is sent to your mobile number via SMS and to the email address on your account.

Can I change the email address or mobile number the eGift Card is sent to?

You won't be able to change where the eGift Card is sent during the online eGift Card selection process. You can manage email addresses associated with your account via My Optus App or calling the contact centre on 133 937.

Can the available eGift Cards change? 

Yes. The available eGift Cards may change from time to time.

Where can I see expiry details for my eGift Card? 

Expiry details are shown during the claim process and on the eGift Card itself.

Can I receive more than one eGift Card?

This offer applies once per eligible AutoRecharge on an eligible service.

Are eGift Cards refundable or exchangeable? 

No. eGift Cards aren't refundable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.

Can I get a physical gift card instead? 

No. This offer provides digital eGift Cards only.

Troubleshooting & help

I've completed my AutoRecharge but haven't received a claim link — what should I do? 

Check your SMS and email, including junk folders. If you still can't find your claim link, contact Optus customer support on 133 937 for help.

I can't find my claim message — can it be resent? 

Yes. You can request your claim message to be resent by messaging 'CODE' to 111.

My claim code isn't working — what should I do? 

Check that the code has been entered correctly and hasn't expired. If issues continue, contact Optus customer support on 133 937.

Who do I contact if I need help? 

If you need help at any stage, message us via My Optus App or contact Optus customer support on 133 937.

How do I add the eGift Card to my phone wallet?

If you open the eGift Card sent on your mobile device and click 'Add to Google Wallet' or 'Add to Apple Wallet', follow the prompts to save your card into your phone wallet. If you have any issues, please refer to your phone manual.

eGift Card retailer FAQs

Uber eGift Card

Where can I use my Uber eGift card?

You can use your eGift Card within the Uber Eats app or Uber app. To use a Gift Card, you must first redeem it in the Uber app or Uber Eats app. You must have an active and valid Uber account to redeem the Gift Card.

 When does my Uber eGift card expire?

The eGift Card must be redeemed within 3 years from its date of activation, you can check this date in the email you received. If a Gift Card is not redeemed before such date, the value of such Gift Card will be forfeited.

Once a Gift Card is redeemed on to your account, the Gift Card Balance does not expire.

How do I redeem my Uber eGift Card?

You must have an active and valid Uber account to redeem the Gift Card. Please follow these steps to redeem the Gift Card in the Uber or Uber Eats app:

  1. Go to the 'Account' section on the homepage of the Uber or Uber Eats app
  2. Tap on 'Wallet' or 'Payment'
  3. Tap on '+ Gift card'
  4. Enter the Gift Card code
  5. Tap on 'Add'

A Gift Card is "redeemed" after the above steps are completed and the value represented by the Gift Card is reflected as a Gift Card balance in the Uber app or Uber Eats app ("Gift Card Balance"). The Gift Card Balance may be used by applying it as a Payment Method, in accordance with the Gift Card Terms.

What if my purchase costs more than the value on my Uber eGift Card?

You will be required to add a secondary Payment Method to use the Gift Card Balance, for example, if the Gift Card Balance is not sufficient to cover the price of your Transaction it will deduct from the secondary Payment Method.

Can I redeem multiple Uber eGift Cards?

Yes you can. If you redeem multiple Gift Cards, the value represented by each Gift Card will be aggregated and reflected as Gift Card Balance in the app.

How can I check my Uber balance or transaction history?

You can check the balance on your account within the app. Go to the 'Account' section and tap on wallet. Your Uber balances will be shown.

To view transaction history go to the 'Activity' section within the app.

Amazon eGift Card

Where can I use my Amazon.com.au eGift card?

You can use your eGift Card to purchase eligible goods and services on Amazon.com.au

When does my Amazon.com.au eGift card expire?

Your Amazon.com.au Balance and Gift Cards do not expire.

How do I redeem my Amazon.com.au eGift Card?

Follow the steps below to add the eGift Card on to your account, the funds are stored in Your Account and will automatically apply to your next eligible order. 

  • Go to https://www.amazon.com.au/gc/redeem
  • Sign into your account
  • Enter your claim code and select Apply to Your Account.

You can also redeem a gift card directly against a purchase on Amazon.com.au by entering your gift card claim code during checkout.

What if my purchase costs more than the value on my eGift Card?

If your gift card balance is insufficient to complete a purchase, you can use a combination of the gift card balance and a different payment method (such as a credit/debit card) to complete the purchase.

How can I check my Amazon.com.au eGift Card balance or transaction history?

When you apply an Amazon.com.au eGift Card to an order or add one to Your Account for future purchases, Amazon will store the available balance so you can view it at any time.

If you want to know when and why your gift card balance changed, please check your statement for relevant details.

To view your Amazon.com.au Gift Card balance:

  1. Go to Your Account.
  2. Select Gift cards and view the balance on any of your Amazon.com.au Gift Cards.

Note:

You can review all changes to your balance in the transaction section of your Balance Page, including order IDs or serial numbers.

Please review the Amazon Gift Card Terms and Conditions to make sure that your item is eligible, when your balance is not provided as payment method during checkout.

Google Play eGift Card

Where can I use my Google Play eGift card?

When does my Google Play eGift card expire?

Card value expires 5 years following the date of (1) card issuance or (2) last activity on the Google Play stored value account to which the card is redeemed, whichever is the later. Except as required by law, card is not redeemable for cash or other cards; not reloadable or refundable; cannot be combined with non-Google Play balances, resold, exchanged or transferred for value. User is responsible for loss of card. For help or to view balance, visit support.google.com/googleplay/go/cardhelp.

How do I redeem my Google Play eGift Card?

Follow the steps below to add the eGift Card on to your account, the funds are stored in your Google Play balance as credit to buy apps, games and digital content.

  1. On an Android device
    1. Open the Google Play app.
    2. At the top right, tap your Profile picture.
    3. Tap Payments & subscriptions, Redeem code.
    4. Enter the code.
    5. Tap Redeem.
    6. Review the account that'll receive the balance you redeem.
    7. Tap Confirm.
  2. On your computer
    1. Go to play.google.com/redeem.
    2. Enter your code.
    3. Click Redeem.
    4. Review the account that'll receive the balance you redeem.
    5. Click Confirm.

You can also redeem a gift card directly against a purchase on Google Play by entering your gift card claim code to the payment method during checkout. 

Only use this gift card's code on Google Play. Any other request for the code may be a scam. Visit play.google.com/giftcardscam. Gift card issued by Google Payment Australia Limited Pty Ltd (GPAL). See Google Play – Google  for full terms. Users must be Australian residents aged 13+. Requires a Google Payments account and Internet access to redeem. What if my purchase costs more than the value on my eGift Card?

You can combine your Google Play balance with another form of payment or promotion if your balance is less than your purchase amount.

How can I check my Google Play eGift Card balance or transaction history?

Your Google Play balance is credit that you can use to buy apps, games, and digital content on Google Play.

To view your Google Play balance:

  1. On your computer
    1. Go to play.google.com
    2. At the top right, select your profile icon.
    3. Select Payment & Subscriptions.
    4. Check for your Play balance.
  2. On your Android device
    1. Open the Google Play app.
    2. At the top right, tap the profile icon.
    3. Tap Payments & Subscriptions > Payment Methods > Google Play balance

H&M eGift Card

Where can I use my H&M eGift card?

You can use your eGift Card to purchase eligible goods in H&M stores within Australia or online at www.hm.com/au.

When does my H&M eGift card expire?

Your H&M Gift Cards are valid for 3 years.

How do I redeem H&M eGift Card?

Follow the steps below redeem your eGift card in store or online via hm.com/au.

  1. Redeem in store
    • Present the digital eGift Card at the checkout.
  2. Redeem online at www.hm.com/au
    • Add items to your cart online and continue to checkout
    • At the payment step select “Add gift card” and enter your gift card number and pin.
What if my purchase costs more than the value on my eGift Card?

If your purchase is higher than the amount of your eGift Card then you’ll need to use an additional payment method to complete your purchase.

How can I check my H&M eGift Card balance or transaction history?

You can check your current balance online at hm.com or in a H&M store.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

eGift Card: Available to new services connecting to $40/$50 Optus Flex Plus only. AutoRecharge must be setup with credit/debit card at activation and remain on. An eGift Card claim code will be sent within 72 hours of successful AutoRecharge. You will need to redeem your claim code within 28 days of it being sent. The 28 day period applies to the claim code only. Your selected eGift Card will be valid until the end of the expiry date specified on the eGift Card itself by the applicable retailer / issuer. Check your eGift Card for usage instructions, expiry date and Terms and Conditions (also available on the website of the applicable retailer / issuer). Your selected eGift Card is not refundable or redeemable for cash. Expired eGift Cards cannot be extended or replaced. Treat your eGift Cards like cash as they cannot be replaced. By activating services on the $40/$50 Optus Flex Plus plan, you consent to receive email or SMS messages from Optus that relate primarily to the activation and usage of the eGift Card and are necessary to administer the eGift Card offer.
