The Thuraya SatSleeve was sold in Optus retail stores and business channels and by authorised dealers nationally from 1 July 2015 to 5 June 2021.
Optus has recalled the charger that is bundled with the Thuraya SatSleeve because the charger’s insulated pin, particularly when in cold temperatures below freezing, may crack and expose the active pin.
Where this occurs, there is a risk of electric shock or electrocution causing injury or death, as thin metallic items (e.g. slats of metal blinds, a knife or metal sheet) may contact the active pin that is not fully engaged in the socket outlet.
You should immediately stop using the charger and contact Optus for a replacement charger using the online form below.
To check if your charger is the subject of this recall, look for Model: KSAS0100500200D5 on the top of the charger.
