A month of night feasting at the Brisbane Powerhouse – powered by Optus 5G

From March 1-26, hungry culture buffs could feast on art, music and food at the inaugural Night Feast: Autumn at the Brisbane Powerhouse, a magnificent power station of the 1920s on the Brisbane River (Maiwar) reborn as Queensland’s home of contemporary culture and art.
With the month-long culinary celebration drawing more than 125,000 visitors, Optus was proud to deliver high-speed 5G connectivity to the entire precinct, enabling all 22 pop-up restaurants and bars to provide a continuous ordering experience even when Night Feast was at its busiest.
Working behind the scenes, the Optus team rolled out 5G connectivity quickly and efficiently, so that all food and beverage providers had access to dedicated private Wi-Fi.
Technologies deployed included Peplink, CradlePoint and Cisco Meraki, all enabled by the award-winning Optus 5G network. The network was also managed by Optus throughout the month to ensure a consistent and reliable experience.
More than 100,000 separate orders were taken over the course of the event by restaurants in the gourmet village, so fast and reliable Wi-Fi was critical!
The Optus team was also delighted to be able to offer hospitality to some of our key clients at the event, who enjoyed access to an immersive art tour followed by an exclusive taste of some of the Powerhouse chef’s signature dishes in the American Express Garden Lounge.
Visitors to the neon-noir playground could also explore eight playful and immersive art installations, or settle in to hear some of Queensland’s most talented artists.
Night Feast: Autumn was one of the Brisbane Powerhouse’s most visited events in a packed calendar, and we look forward to partnering with them again for Night Feast: Spring in October 2023.
