Optus powers up coverage in Jerdacuttup

13 September 2022

Optus has delivered much needed network coverage in regional Western Australia by switching on a new mobile tower in the Jerdacuttup area.

The new tower, located on the South Coast Highway, provides Optus customers with enhanced connectivity while living, working in, and driving through the area, over six hours south-east of Perth and an hour and a half west of Esperance.

The tower provides dedicated capacity and bandwidth, strengthens Optus’ services to the region and provides improved coverage to residents, businesses, and visitors in the area as a key town between Albany and Esperance.

Optus Territory General Manager for Western Australia, Paul O’Neill, is excited to be switching on another mobile tower in regional Western Australia and continuing to strengthen Optus’ coverage for rural residents.

“We’re pleased to be switching on the Jerdacuttup tower and continuing to strengthen connectivity across the region, enabling our customers to do more of the things they love, in more places.

“We know that customers want faster download speeds and reliable connectivity whether they are at home or on the go. The Jerdacuttup tower will help our customers to stay connected with family and friends.

“Not only does the new tower deliver improved mobile connectivity, coverage and capacity, but it also provides competition and choice for local businesses and residents who can get great value with Optus,” added Mr O’Neill.

The Jerdacuttup tower will also provide network support to the proposed Ravensthorpe transmission upgrade next year. The tower transmission upgrade will provide Ravensthorpe residents, businesses, and visitors with Optus 4G, improving coverage and allowing more access to the town.

Optus’ investment in into regional areas has transformed the connectivity of the area and demonstrates exactly why competition and choice for customers remains essential.
