Yes to Tasmania: Devonport opens their new Optus store

We’re serving the local Devonport community with our first-time retail presence in North West Tasmania at Rooke Street Mall.

The new Optus retail store in Devonport’s centre is giving customers on the North West Coast greater choice when looking for a new mobile phone plan, value broadband internet, home phone or TV entertainment package.

The store also offers the Optus network features, a network that adapts to customers’ needs by offering them flexibility and control. There’s a range of options including Optus Pause – giving customers back control over their device usage to take a digital breather when they need it.

Complementing the new store, Optus has switched on two new towers in the area. The towers in East Devonport and Acacia Hills provide dedicated mobile reception for those located East of the city, enhancing coverage along parts of Bass Highway which connects Devonport to the North West and along Melrose and Sheffield Roads.

Peter West, Optus Territory General Manager for Tasmania, said: “The new Devonport store has become very popular with locals. The needs of the community are extremely important to us and the new store has not only allowed us to be more accessible to new and existing customers but more importantly, enables us to serve them better with the face-to-face connection.”

Investment in Tasmania is a priority for Optus, with more than $35 million invested over the last 5 years to improve and expand mobile reception. This forms part of Optus’ ongoing commitment to delivering its best network ever to rural and regional parts of Australia as well as providing more competition and choice.
