Optus is supporting Team Australia at the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 that will be held on 8-16 February.

Last year, Optus announced a major multi-year partnership with Invictus Australia, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to enhancing the health and wellbeing of veterans and their families through sport.

The partnership recognises veteran contributions and engages the broader public in understanding their experiences.

As an inclusive employer, Optus prioritises diversity and ensures its workforce reflects a wide range of skills, capabilities, and backgrounds.

Optus actively hires and supports veterans and their spouses, reinforcing its status as a Veteran Employer of Choice and a member of the Veteran Employment Commitment. Through this partnership, Optus will strengthen its engagement with the veteran community, providing meaningful opportunities and support.

The Invictus Games

The Invictus Games is an international multi-sport event for wounded, injured or ill current and former servicemen and women. Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 will include over 500 competitors from more than 20 countries. The event will showcase adaptive sports, including the new winter sports Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding, Nordic Skiing and Biathlon, Skeleton, and Wheelchair Curling, in addition to the core Invictus Games sports of indoor rowing, sitting volleyball, swimming, wheelchair rugby and wheelchair basketball.

Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, created the international Invictus Games in 2014 to celebrate the unconquered human spirit and shine a spotlight on those who served, following his deployment in Afghanistan and inspired by attending the US Warrior Games in 2013, to encourage a greater international understanding of and respect for wounded injured and sick service personnel and veterans. Today, the Invictus Games Foundation offers a recovery pathway for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women internationally through sports, esports, and adventurous challenge, providing opportunities for those involved to reclaim their purpose, identity and future, beyond their injuries.

How to watch the Invictus Games

Catch all the action on Channel 9 between 8-16 February. The 9Network will air the international daily highlight packages, plus Opening and Closing ceremonies on 9Gem, and stream additional sports on 9Now.

Optus will also share this feed via ADFTV which gives access to Australian Defence Force personnel to cheer on Team Australia.
