How Optus connects the Gympie Music Muster

Two young and emerging country music artists have thrown their support behind Optus for the innovative solution which delivers connection at the Gympie Music Muster 2025, as showcased in News Corp Australia’s Bush Summit 2025.
Optus delivered network services again to the Muster which officially started on August 28 at the Amamoor Creek State Forest, about 180km north of Brisbane.
The Optus Cell On Wheels (COW) provides festivalgoers with mobile coverage despite the remote location.
Muster performers Grace Alexander, and, Sarah Catania said the country music event would not be the same without Optus coverage.
“Having a decent mobile or internet connection at the Muster is really important, because our lives today are all about connection,” Grace said.
“As a teen it’s not just about social media — it’s about safety, knowing what’s happening around you, and staying part of the festival experience.
“Just as important, it’s about staying connected to the people who matter most — family (my Nanny), friends, and the outside world.
“Even out in the bush, it feels good knowing you can message or call someone if you need to. It’s not about being on your phone all the time — it’s just knowing you’re not completely cut off. That makes a big difference and helps you make the most of every moment no matter where you are.”
Sarah also said having reliable connection at the Muster makes a world of difference.
“Being able to text a mate and see what stage they are at makes it a lot less stressful. As well as being able to phone home and chat to family and friends amongst the chaos.
“Being an Optus girl myself, I am usually the Hotspot queen of the group, and I am very honoured to hold that title!”
Greg Cavanagh, Gympie Music Muster CEO agreed with the artists and said the Optus network was critical for the festival.
“The Amamoor Creek site is nestled in the hills and the area normally does not have any network coverage. Optus kindly installs a solution to provide connectivity for not only critical operations but also allows our punters to connect during the Muster. “Without Optus we could not run the Gympie Music Muster.”
