What we’re watching in May 2026

The Boys is a gritty and often violent take on the world of superheroes through the lens of large corporations and superheroism as more of a job than a duty. The show is coming to a bittersweet end in May, with The Boys’ fifth season streaming through April and its finale arriving on May 20.

The fifth season sees the show reach its most chaotic heights – a world of superheroes unbalanced by greed and scheming, and the titular Boys attempting to right everything that has gone wrong. This is often quite a gory show so viewer discretion is advised.

The show is led by Antony Starr and Karl Urban who really define its tone. Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, Karen Fukuhara and Laz Alonso also deliver incredible performances.

One of the greatest European nights in both Champion's League and Liverpool FC history. 2005 Champion's League final, 3-0 down at half-time to Inter Milan, no one expected Liverpool to even get level let alone pull off one of the greatest come-back wins in the history of the sport of football.

Untold UK: Liverpool's Miracle of Istanbul relives the drama and jubilation of that night, detailing the up-hill battle the team went through to reach the final. With a new manager at the helm in Rafa Benitez, their star striker Michael Owen leaving for Real Madrid, rival manager in Jose Mourinho trying to lure Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard to Chelsea FC, Liverpool fans were staring down a trophy-less season wrought with disruption and a Champions League final crash out. But what happened that night can only be described as an unthinkable miracle.

Season 2 of The Four Seasons picks right up from where we left things in Season 1. For those who need a quick refresher, The Four Seasons follows three suburban couples who vacation together every season - only this time, one couple decide to part ways disrupting the comfortable dynamic this long-term friendship has become familiar with.

Despite the changes in their relationships, the tradition of holidaying together lives on for the sake of maintaining old friends but unbeknownst to them – the trip is only ever disguised as a holiday when really it is simply the backdrop for personal revelation. As the group travel together, they are constantly confronted by life’s big questions “Am I really in love? Are we only friends because of tenure? Who am I married too and Who am I?”

With its ensemble cast and intimate storytelling written by Tina Fey, the series captures the beauty and complexity of relationships and how it can be easily shaped by shared history. Season 2 leans into these themes showing how maturity and a lifetime of memories can both complicate and strengthen friendships even when life refuses to stay the same.

If you’re like me and love your tennis but feel there’s been a big, bull-shaped hole in your ball watching pleasure since the end of the 2024 season, when a certain Spanish wunderkind left the court for the last time, then you might also, like me, get goose bumps when you find out Netflix is about to serve up a whole documentary series about the one and only, Rafa Nadal.

No matter how much I admire a sports star in their respective arenas, I’m not normally one to spend valuable time watching behind the scenes doccos about how they spend their money or deal with all the sycophancy – I wouldn’t even watch one about Andy Murray, and I’m British! But when I look at these four episodes heading my way, jam packed with more deets about this truly gifted sports superhero in his final year on tour, I have the same unwavering optimism I had every time he did that funny little sprint onto the court and that strange arranging of his drink bottles.

Because when it comes to Rafa, even if he’s having a bad day, you know there’s a very strong chance the show will still be ace.

While the above shows are what we’re most excited for, there’s a lot of other content that we’re keen on streaming.

Season 2 of Citadel, a spy thriller that’s hard to put down, arrives on Prime Video on May 6. Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War, another thriller following the titular CIA agent, arrives on May 20. Spider-Noir, an adaption of the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir set during the 1930s and starring Nicholas Cage, arrives on May 27.

Meanwhile on Netflix, the thrilling 2025 film Bugonia, focused the kidnapping of a pharmaceutical CEO by people believing she’s an alien, arrives on May 21. Nemesis, focused on a Los Angeles cop taking down a master thief, starts streaming on May 14.
