Westworld (R 18+)

A BINGE favourite with four gripping seasons, Westworld is a dystopian sci-fi series with a creative take on artificial intelligence in mid-21^st century. The series follows android “Hosts” and high-paying guests who indulge in their wildest fantasies at a wild-west-themed amusement park, one of the only places where humans are not controlled by an AI named Rehoboam.

In this amusement park, robot Hosts are tasked to help humans fulfill their fantasies – however, have their memory wiped after every incident. After a new update causes a few Hosts to regain their memories, buried secrets about the park and its management are revealed, with some shocking twists that are bound to keep you watching for more.

House of the Dragon (R 18+)

The prequel to hit series Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon is its own original series about the Targaryen dynasty and its inspiring female heir. The show focuses on the court intrigue lightly explored in its predecessor and provides substantial depth into the tenuous peace of the era before the Game of Thrones times.

Akin to period dramas in their grand costuming and design, House of the Dragon also impresses with expertly choreographed action scenes and dark cinematography reminiscent of its predecessor. Wentworth (R 18+)

Touted as one of the best Australian shows ever made, Wentworth is a crime and thriller drama following the difficult lives of Wentworth Correctional Centre’s inmates and prison staff. The show explores dynamic relationships and politics between women in an unfavourable environment, and takes you through the power struggles, rivalries, and even allegiances that form as the protagonists all get to know each other. Ultimately a show about retribution, rehabilitation, and hope, Wentworth is a great series with great character depth and intriguing themes.

Euphoria (R 18+)

Exploring the deep and dark troubles of modern high schoolers, Euphoria is a gripping show focusing on two teenage girls trying to find their place in the world – Rue, a recovering addict, and Jules, a new girl in town. Following the two girls and their broader group of high school friends, Euphoria comments on the new-age social issues youths are faced with, including drugs, sex, violence, toxic friendships, and self-esteem issues.

Succession (MA 15+)

Eating up all the hype right now is Succession, an American satirical black comedy drama known for its intense character dynamics and realistic corporate America backdrop. The show takes place after the Roy family’s head steps down as the CEO of the world’s biggest media and entertainment company, and the fight for succession begins.

A fascinating and gripping take on family relations in a powerful household, Succession critiques the ugliness of the financial world, where characters with a lack of redeeming values and morals fight against each other mercilessly in a battle for control. Big Little Lies (MA 15+)

If you liked suspenseful thriller films like Gone Girl, you’ll love this BINGE series Big Little Lies. As the drama between first and second wives unfold and schoolyard scandals get out of hand, something more sinister begins to occur between the previously civil young mums.

Starring Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Shailene Woodley, the show is enveloped with intriguing mystery, as little lies start to cause more danger than they may have originally intended. With many unanswered questions and missing context that keeps you guessing, Big Little Lies is a great show to binge during a night in.

The White Lotus (MA 15+)

Not only is The White Lotus a beautifully written series, but it’s also visually stunning with a star-studded cast and light-hearted social commentary. It follows the exploits of various guests and employees during their time at The White Lotus resort chain. As the privileged guests begin to unleash their true characters and act on their worst impulses, the once-cheerful hotel employees also reveal a darker complexity within.

From romantic light-hearted dramas to classic action adventure films, there are many great films to watch on BINGE.

Little Women 2019 (PG)

Based on the highly accredited novel of the same name, Little Women 2019 is a coming-of-age period film balancing modern themes of feminism and equality, driven by a star-studded cast and impeccable film design. As the seventh remake of the novel, Little Women 2019 stands out from its predecessors by weaving director Greta Gertwig’s own sentiment and sensibility into the characters and plot of the original.

By paying respect to its source material, yet also spicing things up with a non-linear timeline and Oscar-nominated performances by Saoirse Ronan and Florence Pugh, Little Women 2019 is a masterwork drama with a rich story, where every scene looks like it came out of a painting. Great to watch with young teens, the messages of Little Women are strong and still incredibly important in today’s political environment.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (MA 15+)

If you’ve just watched the Oscars and want to see more of Michelle Yeoh’s dedicated craft, the action and adventure series Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is one to watch on BINGE. The first film of the series is exclusively available on BINGE and is a fun, adrenaline-inducing watch with real wuxia martial arts and majestic set locations in Beijing.

The 2000 film is led by Chow Yun Fat and Michelle Yeoh, two big names in the Chinese entertainment industry, who both deliver emotional and memorable performances in a story that’s romantic at heart. A balance of exciting stunts and an imaginative artistic vision from director Ang Lee, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is a Hollywood classic you need to give a go.

The Theory of Everything (MA 15+)

A biographical romantic film drama led with an Academy Award-winning performance by Eddie Redmayne, The Theory of Everything tells the life story of world-renown astrophysicist Stephen Hawking. The film is an adaption of a 2007 memoir by Jane Hawking detailing her relationship with her ex-husband and brings her story to life by capturing the Hawkings’ beginnings in both the science world and the real world.

The film follows Stephen Hawking as he develops his thesis that a black hole created the universe in a Big Bang and is first diagnosed with motor neuron disease. The movie has a multifaceted storyline focusing on Hawking’s achievements in the science world, his losing battle with his disease, as well as his complicated relationship with his wife and children. An emotional, gut-wrenching story about life and hope, The Theory of Everything is an absolute must-watch on BINGE.

Trixie Motel (MA 15+)

One of the best reality shows on BINGE is Trixie Motel. Popular drag superstar Trixie Mattel has expanded her glamourous empire into the hospitality industry, trying her hand at running the “gaggiest, most iconic motel that ever existed”. Taking you on her endeavours, Trixie Motel is a TV series that showcases the ups and downs of running a motel, from trendy room renovations to hiring fun and fabulous staff.

During the show, Trixie invites a few of her famous friends to help out on the motel transformation, including comedian Nicole Byer, fellow drag queen Katya, and musician Iggy Azalea. Let loose with Trixie as she changes a rundown motel into a pink and vintage palace on BINGE.

90 Day Fiancé (MA 15+)

Another light-hearted and hilarious watch is 90 Day Fiancé on BINGE. Known for their viral couples, 90 Day Fiancé follows women who travel to the U.S. to live (and hopefully marry) their American boyfriends, often meeting them for the first time. In some cases, American women also travel abroad to meet their foreign fiancés. The show documents the 90 days a couple spends with each other while contemplating their future marriage and visa expiration.

Originating from the short comedy films created in the 1940s, the Tom and Jerry animated series centres on the rivalry between two animals, a cat named Tom and a mouse named Jerry. As the two feud it out in a never-ending saga, you get to watch the complex schemes plotted by Tom and the clever spunkiness of Jerry play out on the small screen.

One of the best animated films from the Tom and Jerry franchise is Cowboy Up!. Set in the Wild West, the duo is tasked to work together to save a ranch from a greedy land grabber. The two animals help a cowgirl and her brother keep their range in a fun-filled, comedic adventure.
