In what is an unprecedented move by the most iconic sporting stadiums across the country, the Matildas Quarter Final against France at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023TM will have the support of more than just one packed stadium on Saturday in Brisbane.
The Melbourne Cricket Ground and Sydney Cricket Ground will host scheduled Australian Rules football matches, but demand for the Matildas is so high that the venues will put the Quarter Final on their big screens before the Carlton v Melbourne (staring at 7.30pm) fixture and after the Sydney Swans v Gold Coast (starting at 1.45pm) match.
Sydney Olympic Park will also set up three live sites in total with two at Cathy Freeman Park and one at Fig Grove.
More than 40 per cent of all games during the tournament have been free to all Australians. Millions of Optus customers can access all 64 games for just $6.99 and others can subscribe for $24.99.
