New Runnymede tower to provide an essential connection for passengers along the Tasman Highway
Residents of Runnymede and surrounds have been given a coverage boost with Optus switching on a new tower, providing customers with greater communications and increased network capacity, including an enhanced user experience of Optus’ 5G network for the first time.
As part of Optus’ continued investment into Tasmania, the new tower will improve the mobile network in the region and enhance the Optus network along the bustling Tasman Highway, seen as the gateway to Tasmania's East Coast.
Peter West, Optus Territory General Manager for Tasmania, is pleased to be providing stronger coverage at such a crucial location for the state.
“With thousands of locals, workers and tourists frequenting the Tasman Highway every day, the new Optus tower will provide a heightened level of telecommunications coverage for the community all year round,” Mr West said.
“We’re also very proud to be providing our customers with much-needed access to our 5G network from the new Runnymede tower.”
“For anyone considering making the switch to Optus, you can visit our retail stores located in at the Eastlands Shopping Centre in Rosny Park or in Hobart, or visit our website for more information.”
The investment to expand Optus’ telecommunications infrastructure and mobile coverage is part of an ongoing project to improve coverage, reliability, and speed across the Optus mobile network in Tasmania.
