In Tasmania, Clifton Beach residents will benefit from enhanced mobile coverage as Optus switches on a new tower in the area.
With the newly installed Optus-owned site, located near Clifton Beach, Optus aims to provide better customer experience by improving the density of the mobile network and increasing network capacity, as well as bringing 5G capabilities.
The new tower, which has been much-anticipated by the Clifton Beach community, aims to provide a fast and reliable network to connect residents of the area.
The new tower will also enhance the Optus network for the local community of Clifton Beach, as well as the growing number of tourists who flock to the area’s picturesque, and popular Surf Life Saving Club.
Peter West, Optus Territory General Manager for Tasmania, said Optus is pleased to be providing the local community with greater mobile competition and choice through their network projects.
“We’re proud to be providing our customers with much-needed access to our network from the new Clifton Beach tower,” Mr West said.
“The introduction of 5G will enable customers to take advantage of an enhanced Optus network, where they can explore the innovations that come with this technology through faster download speeds and an enhanced user experience.”
“Installing the new tower will also allow locals to feel a sense of security and safety knowing they can rely on Optus’ network to connect to major services in times of emergency.”
The investment to expand Optus’ telecommunications infrastructure and mobile coverage is part of an ongoing project to improve coverage, reliability, and speed across the Optus mobile network.
