Netflix now available on Optus SubHub as the latest subscription partner

7 March 2022

  • Global streaming giant, Netflix, announced as newest subscription partner to join Optus SubHub.
  • As part of today’s launch, Optus has also created two new Optus nbnTM Internet Family Entertainer bundles offering fast and reliable nbn, a Standard Netflix subscription and a WiFi booster, all included in one home internet plan.
  • A new 5G Internet Entertainer Superfast plan with Standard Netflix subscription and next gen plug and play WiFi6 modem is also being introduced.
  • New and existing Netflix customers can now bundle their paid subscriptions with some of the world’s best content services via SubHub, to streamline, bundle and save.

Watching the latest and greatest TV series, movies and documentaries has just become easier as Optus SubHub announces streaming giant, Netflix, is the newest subscription partner to join the subscription management platform.

One of its kind, SubHub makes light work of keeping track of your content subscription services, bringing these together easily in one platform and offering the option to bundle with other world-class subscription partners for up to a 10 per cent discount on multiple paid subscriptions, all as a single payment via your Optus monthly account.

The addition of the Netflix streaming service to SubHub puts a wide variety of entertaining TV series and films in the palm of SubHub customers’ hands, via an array of internet-connected devices, so whatever your taste, Netflix offers something for everyone.

Upcoming Netflix titles include local productions Byron Baes and Heartbreak High, and the eagerly awaited new seasons of Stranger Things and Bridgerton.

Customers with an existing Netflix service wanting to migrate their current subscription to SubHub can do so knowing their profiles and preferences also carry over - so there’s no losing where they’re up to in their favourite series or having to rebuild their personal or household watchlist.

Clive Dickens, VP of TV, Content & Product Development at Optus said of the news, “We’re thrilled to welcome Netflix as our latest SubHub partner, with its vast selection of best-in-class entertainment now available to all Optus SubHub customers.”

As part of the launch, Optus has introduced two new nbn plans at standard and fast speed tiers, as well as a 5G internet plan, each with a Standard Netflix subscription included.

The nbn Internet Family Entertainer plans with a fast, safer and more reliable internet connection also include a WiFi Booster for more wall-to-wall WiFi coverage in your home and unlimited data, while the 5G Internet Entertainer Superfast plan with a next gen plug and play WiFi6 modem offers seriously fast speeds for seamless streaming in High Definition.

Matt Williams, MD of Marketing & Revenue at Optus, said, “With more work, study, streaming and gaming at home than ever before, staying connected has never been so important.

“We know our customers need home connectivity with entertainment options that suit the entire household. Optus’ new nbn Family Entertainer and 5G Entertainer Superfast bundles with Netflix included, seamlessly bring these elements together in one great package.”

Ben Cox, Director of Business Development at Netflix said, “Optus was one of Netflix’s first partners in Australia, and many Aussies’ first experience of Netflix would have been as part of their Optus plan.

”These new bundles are the perfect evolution of our partnership with Optus, and will continue to make it easy and affordable for people to experience the joy of Netflix.”

The new Internet Family Entertainer Fast plan is priced at $109 a month for the first six months, returning to $119 a month thereafter. The Internet Family Entertainer plan and 5G Internet Entertainer Superfast plan are both priced at $89 a month for six months, before returning to the standard price of $99 a month. All three plans have $0 start-up costs*.

Via SubHub, existing Netflix subscriptions can be carried over under the new nbn and 5G Internet Entertainer plans without losing your profiles or preferences.
