13 July 2020

Optus Sport continues to deliver options for customers, with the streaming service to be offered in the LG Smart TV app store for the first time*.

Optus Sport is the home of premium football content in Australia, including exclusively live coverage of every Premier League, UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League match, as well as holding the exclusive rights to the Barclays FA Women’s Super League, FIFA Club World Cup, and Asia’s J-League and K-League.

Customers looking to catch the exclusive sport content on their LG Smart TV will need an existing Optus Sport account and premium subscription, with new customers able to access by subscribing via the Optus Sport mobile apps, or as an inclusion with an eligible Optus plan.

“Optus Sport is thrilled to be adding another platform so fans can catch all the football action they want with their LG Smart TV,” Optus’ Head of TV and Content Corin Dimopoulos said.

“As live sport returns to Optus Sport, we know football fans are passionate to reconnect with the game they love.”

“At LG Australia, we’re passionate about creating shared experiences in the home through our suite of home entertainment products. That’s why we’re thrilled to offer LG customers access to sport directly from their LG Smart TVs. When it comes to sport, our 2020 TVs are built with features that make viewers feel as if they are in the stands,” Tony Brown, Marketing Manager for Home Entertainment at LG Electronics Australia said.

Optus Sport has a host of well-respected talent across the coverage, including hosts Mel McLaughlin, Richard Bayliss and Niav Owens and some of Australia’s best pundits including Amy Chapman, Heather Garriock, Mark Schwarzer, John Aloisi and Alicia Ferguson.

Optus Sport’s coverage of the Premier League includes comprehensive live programming and all games available on-demand, including the popular mini matches and highlights, so viewers never miss a moment of the action.
