Optus has boosted mobile coverage in greater Townsville following the switch on of a new tower in the western suburb of Bohle Plains.
The tower will provide Bohle Plains residents with dedicated 4G mobile coverage and will reach over 1,000 premises and businesses.
Optus Territory General Manager for Northern Queensland, Dave Morrissey said, “The new site in Bohle Plains will not only provide dedicated mobile coverage for those in the town, but also enhance coverage along Hervey Range Road towards Rangewood, Range Road and The Ring Road, enabling residents to stay connected with their friends and family through reliable voice and data access.”
“We are thrilled to be bringing improved coverage to greater Townsville, with this new tower following on from our recent announcement of 50 towers being switched on in North Queensland in the last four years.”
“We understand the importance for our customers to have strong mobile coverage when they are working, living and travelling around regional Australia.”
Optus’ priority is to deliver competition, value and choice for customers and this new regional site will play a key role in helping to facilitate this across Bohle Plains,” Mr Morrissey added.
Bohle Plains is one of hundreds of regional areas enjoying Optus’ 4G network which now covers 97.3 percent of the Australian population.
