Optus is boosting its support in Gippsland with the announcement of a new sponsorship of the Traralgon Rovers Cricket Club (The Rovers).
The sponsorship agreement will see Optus supporting The Rovers, one of the largest junior cricket clubs in the Gippsland region, over a three-year period.
Signing the agreement at the Rovers’ home ground today Jayson Grool, Optus Territory General Manager, Eastern Victoria said, “At Optus we are committed to supporting the local communities that we operate within, not only via our excellent network coverage but also by supporting their passions and interests. It’s wonderful to see so many kids getting involved and active with the club and I am proud that Optus is The Rovers’ newest sponsor. I wish the team the best of luck for a winning season ahead and look forward to watching a few games myself.”
Optus will be the exclusive shirt sponsor of the Club in addition to receiving branding along the fence line at the Duncan Cameron Memorial Park home ground. A weekly award from Optus to the player of the match will also be presented throughout the season.
Commenting on the new sponsorship, Rovers President Kevin Foley said, “The Traralgon Rovers Cricket Club are excited to have Optus as our junior teams partner. This partnership means we can continue our successful junior programme and allows us to offer a low cost to junior families. Our aim is to have as many kids playing and enjoying cricket as possible. The Traralgon Rovers Cricket Club look forward to partnering with Optus in delivering our junior programme.”
Optus has a proud history of supporting community sports clubs across Australia with sponsorships in a range of sports such as AFL, soccer, netball and swimming.
