Optus is furthering its support for the city of Launceston with the announcement of a new sponsorship deal with Launceston Football Club (LFC).
The sponsorship agreement, valued at $10,000, will see Optus support the LFC Players Pathway Program which works to deliver support to players by way of mental and physical mentorship. Speaking at the Club’s home ground in Windsor Park today Murray King, CFO Optus praised the work that the Club is doing to foster a positive and enriching playing environment at the Club.
“We know how important sport is to the local community and we are pleased to be able to make this donation today. What makes this agreement that much more special is that the funds will be used to support the wellbeing of the players both on and off the field,” said Mr King.
“For us, this is about Optus giving back to local communities. We hope that today’s announcement enables even more people in Launceston to get involved with the Blues and get active.”
Sandra Boland, LFC President said, “The Launceston Football Club strives to assist players across all grades to be the best version of themselves on and off the field through our Players Pathway Program. Today’s sponsorship from Optus will play a key role in helping facilitate both the mental and physical health support of all of our players.”
In addition to supporting the local community through this sponsorship Optus has completed work on 10 new mobile sites in and around Launceston. Over the last 12 months sites have been delivered at Mole Creek, Oatlands, Legana, Deviot, Swan Bay, Beaconsfield North, Hadspen, Summerhill North, Rocherlea and Kayena which are improving connectivity and providing greater competition and choice for residents and visitors across the region.
