CENTRAL COAST REGION TO RECEIVE $10.2M MOBILE COVERAGE IMPROVEMENTS FROM OPTUS

Over 40 new and upgraded Optus sites announced

Optus has announced 41 sites will be built or upgraded across the Central Coast, aiming to significantly improve mobile coverage across the region in an investment of $10.2 million.

Areas scheduled for these improvements are spread across the Central Coast, from Umina Beach, Bateau Bay, Mt White, Gosford and 37 other locations via Optus standalone investment.

The upgrades are a mixture of improvements to existing mobile sites and new site builds, with customers in these areas set to experience faster, more reliable speeds over mobile data and stronger call reception.

Vin Mullins, Manager of Mobile Access Planning at Optus said, “We have a strong history of providing mobile coverage to the Central Coast and are proud to be able to invest in the area to improve customer experience across the network – whether that be faster speeds when using your data on your mobile, or making calls on the go.

“The Central Coast has a growing population and has some challenging terrain both sides of the F3, which make this investment crucial to ensure our customers are able to benefit from our fastest network ever. Importantly, upgrades across 27 sites are complete and we have four new sites on air,” Mr Mullins said.

New sites: Yarramalong (Live) Kincumber (Live), Lake Munmorah (Live), Calga (Live), Umina Beach Central, Patonga, Woy Woy Central, Empire Bay, Ourimbah, Saratoga, Wamberal South, Lisarow South, Wyoming East, Warnervale and Noraville North.

Completed upgraded sites: Gosford, Erina, Terrigal, Mt White, Gosford CBD, Wadalba, Mt Elliott, Bateau Bay, Somersby Interchange, Noraville, Mannering Park, Girrakool, Copacabana, Kincumber, Pearl Beach, Mangrove Mountain, Tumbi Umbi South, Ettalong Beach, Budgewoi, Umina, Lake Haven, Berkeley Vale, East Gosford, Gwandalan, Saratoga, Long Jetty and Gorokan.

Optus works with the local community to identify the best location for new mobile sites which include co-locating on current infrastructure where possible.
