OPTUS WHOLESALE EVOLVES BUSINESS GRADE OFFERINGS FOR NBN™

8 June 2017

Optus Wholesale is continuing to build out its nbn™ network offerings for wholesale customers with the introduction of Ethernet over nbn (Eonbn), access for Evolve Internet and Evolve IPVPN service.

The delivery of enterprise grade nbn™ network offerings will allow wholesale customers to benefit from fast and reliable broadband for business critical and bandwidth-intensive Layer 2 and Layer 3 data and IP needs, such as video conferencing, Wide Area Networks (WAN), private VPN networks, internet access and improved access to cloud-based services.

The new offerings complement the launch of Evolve Ethernet WAN (EWAN) services announced in December 2016, giving Optus Wholesale a suite of nbn™ ready  data and IP products.  In addition to this, Optus Wholesale is actively developing Evolve Voice via Eonbn.

This includes connectivity to all 121 of nbn™’s Points of Interconnect (POIs) across Australia.

John Castro, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Optus Wholesale said, “This new technology means Optus Wholesale can deliver wholesale partners enterprise grade data services over the nbn™ network in addition to our existing fibre and copper networks to deliver more reach and flexibility.”

“There is an increasing appetite to deliver more Business and Enterprise products across the nbn™ network and we are proud to have led the market with the delivery of these.”

“In addition, recent reports from the ACCC[i] show a low volume of active TC-2[ii] services in Australia, less than 2000 as of March-17.  Optus Wholesale expects to make strong inroads into this segment with this suite of products using Eonbn access.

The supported nbn™ access technologies via Eonbn are Fibre to the Premises (FTTP), Fibre to the Basement (FTTB) and Fibre to the Node (FTTN).
