An update on the impact to Optus' mobile network in southern areas of Queensland and northern New South Wales due to flooding.
An Optus spokesperson said:
As of 12 pm (AEST) today, there remains some localised impact to Optus’ mobile network in southern areas of Queensland and northern New South Wales.
Mobile services have been restored in Gladstone, the Sunshine Coast, and Lismore.
Optus customers may experience slight disruptions to mobile coverage within Hervey Bay, Tweeds Head, Rockhampton and parts of Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Overlapping coverage from surrounding mobile sites should ensure service in these areas.
Flooding is hampering access to some sites but we are continuing to work closely with the relevant emergency services to get safe access to restricted areas. Where possible, we will deploy portable generators to restore services to affected sites, as quickly as possible.
