OPTUS BUSINESS TEAMS WITH PURE STORAGE TO LAUNCH ALL-FLASH CLOUD PLATFORM

Optus Business today announced the launch of one of Australia’s first All-Flash storage platforms available on-premise and in the cloud, made available by Pure Storage.

Optus All-Flash Storage allows Australian organisations to rapidly scale storage platforms tailored to all types of workloads, and accelerate application performance by up to 1000x to optimise network performance.

“The launch of Optus All-Flash Storage comes at a significant tipping point in the adoption of All-Flash storage in Australia. Previously, businesses have been slow to adopt All-Flash storage due to perceived costs and complexity,” said David Caspari, Vice President – Business Technology & Solutions, Optus Business.

All-Flash storage is a solid state storage disk system that contains multiple flash memory drives instead of spinning hard disk drives. Flash memory, which has no moving parts, is a type of non-volatile memory that can be quickly erased and reprogrammed as required.

”This new platform can lower storage spend by up to 50 per cent, meaning All-Flash storage is now an accessible solution for businesses looking to upgrade their IT,” Mr Caspari said.

The new Optus All-Flash storage platform has the ability to consolidate workload and reduce storage footprints under a cost-effective, easy to manage subscription based ownership model.

The platform can also simplify IT infrastructures and upgrades as businesses migrate legacy systems to the cloud. Optus All-Flash storage’s performance can increase agility by providing real-time analytics.

The compact storage solution – which is an alternative to larger on-premise spinning hard disk drive solutions – is built on Pure Storage’s portfolio of future-proof storage solutions including FlashArray//M, FlashBlade, and FlashStack.
