OPTUS OFFERS FANS GLIMPSE INTO FIRST CROWDED HOUSE PERFORMANCE IN 20 YEARS

1 November 2016

Optus is offering music lovers a chance to win the ultimate money-can’t-buy experience – to see Crowded House rehearse live in Neil Finn’s home studio before their upcoming performances in Sydney.

The competition is offering four winners and a guest each the chance to fly to New Zealand and be part of an intimate studio rehearsal session with Crowded House*.

The upcoming performances will be the first in nearly 20 years for Crowded House, which played its Farewell to the World concert on the steps of the Sydney Opera House on November 24, 1996.

Megan Forster, Director of Innovation and Value Added Service at Optus said, “We know that listening to and streaming live music artist performances is a big passion for many of our customers, which is why it is a priority for us to provide unique and exceptional music experiences.

“With this competition, we wanted to give our customers a world exclusive opportunity to experience a truly memorable music moment from an iconic Australian band, who will be recording from the comfort of Neil Finn’s home recording studio,” Ms Forster said.

To celebrate this 20 year anniversary, and the 30th anniversary of the release of their debut record, Crowded House will be re-issuing their entire catalogue this Friday November 4, with every record being accompanied by a selection of bonus material including rare demos, outtakes and live recordings.

In addition to money-can’t-buy experiences, Optus offers data-free streaming for eligible postpaid and prepaid mobile customers when using some of Australia’s most popular music streaming mobile apps, including Google Play Music, iHeartRadio, Pandora and Spotify.

The competition is open to Optus customers with an active Optus mobile phone, landline telephone, mobile broadband or internet service from now until 12pm AEDT 11 November and can be accessed via the following link, http://music.optus.com.au/go/fly-away-to-nz-to-see-crowded-house-live-intimate-in-the-studio.
