Two new accessories and a new name.
Ben White, Managing Director of Product and Marketing at Optus said, “We are excited to introduce Optus Pay, previously known as Cash by Optus, with the addition of the SmartCup by frank green and Paytag accessory. Our goal with Optus Pay has always been to simplify our customers lives. These new additions were developed to answer customers asking for added convenience and choice, and to provide more options to take their money with them when they are out and about.”
The multi-award winning[2] SmartCup by frank green, powered by Optus Pay, allows Optus Pay customers to pay for their coffee without carrying their cash, wallet or smartphone. frank green has advanced the smartchip technology found in the base of the reusable cup, enabling Optus Pay customers to tap the cup at any payment terminal that accepts Visa payWave, and pay for a coffee, food, or any purchase under $100. This innovative solution encourages customers to support re-usables so they can easily minimise their environmental footprint. This partnership is another world first for frank green and the first time a cashless payment solution has been used in a reusable cup.
The new Optus Pay PayTag is specially designed to attach to a range of popular fitness trackers and watches so customers can take their money with them on the go.
Optus Pay accessories use Near Field Communication (NFC) and Visa payWave technology to directly link to the Optus Pay app on a compatible smartphone and make contactless payments under $100.
With more Optus Pay accessories available than ever before, customers can now add up to four accessories to their facility and switch easily from one to another without the hassle of having to register or deregister every time you want to use a new one. Optus Pay can be linked to any Australian bank account via the Optus Pay app.
In addition, customers can now choose from:
“Enabling customers to add more than one accessory to their Optus Pay facility gives them the added flexibility to switch between their favourites. This also means that families can use multiple bands, stickers, Paytags or SmartCups at once while keeping track of what everyone’s spending from one facility. It’s a great way to give our customers the confidence and control to use Optus Pay to make theirs and their families lives easier,” Mr White said.
