Optus today announced the launch of its best value Home Wireless Broadband plans for Consumer and SMB customers who want a simple internet solution, without the hassle of a fixed broadband connection.

Generous data inclusions

From Monday 5 September, new and existing customers who sign up to Home Wireless Broadband with Optus will get 200GB of data for $80 a month on a 24 month contract (minimum total cost of $1,920) or month-to-month plan (minimum total cost of $320 in first month, including modem), or $90 a month on a 12 month contract (minimum total cot of $1080).

Customers who want to bundle their service with an Optus postpaid mobile service (valued at $30 per month or above) can enjoy $20 off their monthly Home Wireless Broadband bill.

For customers who want a little extra data, we’ve introduced automatic data top-ups of  $10 per extra 10GB of data. Customers can get up to a maximum of five automatic data top ups per month. Customers can track their data usage via My Account and will receive SMS alerts to help them stay on top of their data usage.

We’re upping the ante by quadrupling the data included in our Home Wireless Broadband plans, so that customers can enjoy more of what they love, without the fear of running out of data,” Mr White said.

How does Home Wireless Broadband work?

Powered by Optus’ 4G spectrum, Home Wireless Broadband is a convenient out-of-the-box modem that can be connected to the internet in a matter of minutes by activating a SIM, and connecting to a power supply.

Home Wireless Broadband is ideal for renters who need an internet connection with a generous data allowance, people who need a broadband service without the wait, or customers living in areas that can’t get a reliable fixed broadband access. Home Wireless Broadband is broadband service, designed to be used in the home.  The speed of data transmitted using Home Wireless Broadband differs from other services supplied over Optus’ 4G network.  In metropolitan areas where there is 2300 MHz coverage at the nominated address, download and upload speeds of up to 12/1Mbps are available. If 2300 MHz coverage is not available at the nominated address, download and upload speeds of up to 5/1 Mbps are available.
