OPTUS BUSINESS BOLSTERS CYBER SECURITY CAPABILITIES THROUGH NEW COLLABORATION WITH PALO ALTO NETWORKS

23 September 2016

Commitment to deliver ongoing innovation for security technology services.

Optus Business today announced the expansion of its managed security services portfolio to provide Australian enterprises and government agencies with increased detection and prevention capabilities combating cyber attacks.

Optus Business will launch Managed Advanced Threat Prevention (ATP) services operating on the Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Security Platform, comprising Next-Generation Firewall, Threat Intelligence Cloud and Advanced Endpoint Protection.

The collaborative effort by Palo Alto Networks, Singtel and Optus protects organisations by monitoring, isolating and preventing any suspicious applications from breaching an organisation’s networks or endpoint devices and boosts Optus’ global threat intelligence capability and expertise gained from Singtel’s global network of Security Operations Centres (SOCs).

The alliance enables organisations to implement key technology initiatives within the cloud and mobile networks, while maintaining complete visibility and control, to protect their most valued data assets and critical control systems. Optus Business and Palo Alto Networks will also team up on the development of future technology security services.

John Paitaridis, managing director of Optus Business, said “Our collaboration with Palo Alto Networks is another example of Optus Business’ ongoing investment in growing Australia’s ability to combat the increasing frequency and sophistication of cyber security threats. Our enhanced managed security services are complemented by Palo Alto Networks innovative technologies and support Australian businesses and government agencies with services they need to operate confidently in the digital and global market.”

Mark McLaughlin, chairman and chief executive officer of Palo Alto Networks, said “We are delighted to join forces with Optus Business – one of Australia’s most respected and innovative ICT and managed security service providers – to deliver unparalleled next-generation, breach-prevention security capabilities to its customers.”
