OPTUS WHOLESALE SIGNS SPINTEL, IMPROVES NBN WHOLESALE ACCESS

Optus Wholesale has secured an exclusive deal to provide wholesale nbnTM access to Internet Service Provider SpinTel via its Residential Broadband over NBN (RBBoNBN) product.

Optus Wholesale RBBoNBN enables wholesale access to all 121 nbnTM points of interconnect (POIs) with Optus also investing in back-end automation to deliver a more seamless experience for RBBoNBN customers.

Optus Wholesale Head of Marketing and Strategy John Castro said Optus had been rounding out its wholesale offering for partners looking to access the nbnTM.

“As the nbnTM surpasses more than one million households nationally, partners want access to that market via a single, carrier-grade network without an exhaustive investment outlay. Our wholesale solution delivers that access.”

In addition to wholesale nbnTM access, Optus also wholesales ULL, Voice, Enterprise and Carrier Data services, along with pre-paid, post-paid and mobile broadband services.

To support wholesale access to the nbnTM, Mr Castro said Optus has implemented a suite of improvements to support customer experience.

“We know the importance of a great customer experience and have invested in a range of technology platforms that will improve service connections, and the management of faults, which will result in cost efficiencies and Customer Experience benefits,” said Mr Castro.

Optus is providing Layer 2 wholesale aggregation to all 121 permanent nbnTM POIs and access technologies available from nbnTM, via its Residential Broadband over nbnTM product (RBBoNBN).

RBBoNBN offers Service Providers the ability to compete in the nbnTM market quickly and cost effectively, without the need to deploy their own major national infrastructure.
