As of 12.15 pm (AEST) today, there has been localised impact to the Optus mobile and fixed networks in some cyclone affected areas of Queensland.
Network Update
Optus engineers continue to closely monitor the network to minimise impacts on our customers and restore services as quickly as possible:
Optus is working closely with the relevant authorities to enable quick and safe access to restricted areas. Where possible, we are attempting to deploy back-up generators to respond to power outages.
Support for Affected Communities
Optus stores in Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Gracemere and Caloundra remain closed. The Optus store in Morayfield has now been closed.
Optus’ Gladstone and Gladstone Valley stores remain open.
Optus has in place a financial assistance policy to support customers affected by the cyclone. Anyone wishing to discuss this can call our Customer Care team on 133 937.
Optus will use Facebook and Twitter to communicate localised network updates. https://www.facebook.com/optus and https://twitter.com/Optus.
