10.30AM UPDATE: BRISBANE STORM, OPTUS NETWORK STATUS

10.30am Brisbane Storm, Optus Network Status

• Following severe weather events across Brisbane and greater metropolitan area yesterday, power outages in parts of South Brisbane are affecting some Optus mobile towers in the area.

• As a result, some customers may be experiencing interruptions to their voice, text and data services.

• Optus technicians are working closely with the relevant authorities to prioritise the restoration of these sites. Where possible we are deploying portable generators to respond to power outages.

• We are monitoring the situation closely. Customers in the affected area who need to contact emergency services should call 000 from their mobile to be switched to the nearest available mobile network.

• We apologise to Optus customers affected in the area and are working to restore power and service to affected towers as quickly as possible.

• Optus is continuing to assess our network across Brisbane to identify whether there are any further issues.
