TROPICAL CYCLONE ITA - OPTUS UPDATE 14TH APRIL, 2014, 2.00PM
Network Update:
- Service to Shute Harbour, as well as dependent sites at Hamilton Island and Daydream Islands, is no longer down, is back up now, running on generator running at the Shute Harbour site.
- We currently have five mobile sites down across North Queensland in Cooktown, Mossman, Turtle Beach and Wonga, due to local power outages related to Cyclone Ita.
- Optus’ network operations team are continuing to work with emergency services and the relevant authorities on access to affected sites, and monitoring the cyclone and severe weather situation throughout today.
- We want to let Optus customers impacted by cyclone damage know they can call us on 133 937 for help with organising free landline-to-mobile call diversions, cancellations or financial support if needed.
