EMPIRE OF THE SUN AND RUDIMENTAL SHINE FOR OPTUS ROCKCORPS 2014

14 February 2014

Stellar new acts join Samantha Jade to reward young Aussie volunteers

Alternative electro pioneers Empire of the Sun and chart topping English electronic music quartet Rudimental are set to light up the stage at Luna Park this March 12 for Optus RockCorps 2014.

Announced today, the highly acclaimed acts will join Aussie pop sensation Samantha Jade to reward over 3,000 volunteers for giving up four hours of their time to earn money can’t buy tickets to the exclusive Optus RockCorps concert.

Optus’ flagship volunteering initiative is this year presented by Nokia, with the concert being held at Luna Park where the cream of international music talent will treat young Australians to a unique performance as a reward for their contribution to local communities. You can’t buy a ticket, you can’t win a ticket, you have to earn a ticket.

Piers Agget from Rudimental said, “We’re incredibly excited to be part of a global movement that physically brings people together to improve the community, and then rewards them with an exclusive music festival. Our music is a melting pot of genres, sounds and influences and we hope we can help connect people through our music at what’s set to be an awesome gig.”

Empire of the Sun’s Luke Steele added, “It’s great to see young people get involved with community work and music is a universal incentive. We will deliver a show they won’t ever forget.”
