Optus has launched an Australian mobile first with Trade In, Trade Up, an exciting new offer where customers can receive generous credit on their next Optus My Plan phone bill for trading in their old working smartphone.
Available to new and re-contracting postpaid mobile customers at all ‘yes’ Optus retail stores, Trade In, Trade Up offers customers credit towards their next phone bill depending on the model, popularity and condition of the phone.
Rohan Ganeson, Managing Director of Sales at Optus said, “Trade In, Trade Up is a first for Australian telcos, nothing like this has ever been done by an Australian telecommunications carrier. Now is the perfect time for customers to trade in, with so many exciting new smartphones hitting stores across the country.”
“This offer puts our customers’ front of mind by making it cheaper for them to upgrade and making it easier for them by saving time and hassle of selling their old phone themselves.”
No two phones are the same so customers need to drop into an Optus store for a quick evaluation to check if their phone is eligible. Alternatively, customers can check eligibility for trade in by visiting www.optus.com.au/tradein. As a minimum, the phone needs to be able to power on.
Customers are encouraged to back up and then delete their personal information from their phones prior to trade in to ensure that any personal data left on a trade in phone is completely erased. This gives customers peace of mind that their personal information is not left on the phone.
In addition, by trading in, customers can help reduce landfill and waste, with most phones being refurbished and resold overseas.
