THE POTBELLEEZ FINALISE STELLAR LINE-UP FOR INAUGURAL OPTUS ROCKCORPS CONCERT

5 April 2013

The Potbelleez, one of Australia’s most successful electronic dance music acts, is set to light up the stage at the Optus RockCorps concert joining The Script, Tinie Tempah & Guy Sebastian for the money can’t buy event at the Hordern Pavilion on April 11th.

Optus RockCorps is a social initiative and partnership that rewards four hours of volunteer work with a ticket to an exclusive, live concert with some of the world’s biggest musical acts. Money literally can’t buy these tickets. Young people must donate four hours of their time to volunteer work in their community to earn their ticket.

With less than a week to go until Australia’s inaugural Optus RockCorps concert, the addition of The Potbelleez completes the stellar line-up of artists.

iKid from The Potbelleez said, ‘We are super excited to announce we are joining the line-up for the first ever Optus RockCorps concert in Australia. We can’t wait to get on stage alongside the other talented artists and put on a once in a lifetime show to give back to those hardworking volunteers who gave up their time for the community.’

Stephen Greene, RockCorps CEO said, ‘The addition of the Potbelleez to the Optus RockCorps concert really is the icing on the cake. The boys are notorious for delivering an electrifying performance to crowds across the globe. They will rock the volunteers for their hard work. We really wanted them to join our first Australian concert and are just thrilled they complete the line-up.’

Tickets for the Optus RockCorps concert are neither on sale nor part of a competition; volunteers over 16 years old must volunteer for four hours with a project specifically organised by Optus RockCorps. Find out more at www.optusrockcorps.com.au or by calling 1800 ROCK 800.

About RockCorps
RockCorps was dreamed up by a group of American friends in Los Angeles, California, who saw it as a way of getting people to know each other, build neighbourhoods and have fun while doing it. By channeling the power of music and celebrity, RockCorps’ mission is to make volunteering as much a part of youth lifestyle as sports, music, fashion and gaming. Entertainers and politicians have sung the praises of RockCorps alike. It was recently given an award by the UK’s Prime Minister, David Cameron. To date volunteers have given over 500,000 hours to local communities across the world including the US, UK, France, Israel, Mexico, Colombia and Venezuela. RockCorps’ first concert took place in New York in 2005. Since then RockCorps has produced spectacular celebration concerts around the world. Artists such as Lady Gaga, Snoop Dogg, Maroon 5, Rihanna, David Guetta, Diddy, Akon, Kelly Rowland, and Kanye West, have all joined the RockCorps movement.
